Not much Sclotterbeck could do to stop it.
Periods where we were sloe to build up again today, but with 19 shots and 7 on target, it was definitely there for the taking.

I'd agree with this.
Larin had some good chances today that he should have done better with. He often came back too deep to receive the ball, which left options up front limited.
We do seem to have drifted into old habits, playing it around at the back a lot. [Post edited 19 Sep 17:14]

Larin had some good chances today that he should have done better with. He often came back too deep to receive the ball, which left options up front limited.

Wrexham looked a bit terrified of us early on and kept it defensive, we should have speeded up the game and kept them on the back foot. Our slow play gave them the confidence to get back in and win the game. Ridiculous. | |

Ironically you are correct in that you don’t get automatic promotion by losing away to teams like Watford and Wrexham and dropping points from winning positions at Lincoln and Birmingham.
You may finish top eight but then it’s just a completely lottery.
As for Tonda, I suspect that very soon he may not be allowed to remain our man, even if we want him too. [Post edited 19 Sep 18:20]

It looked a lot like the team were playing today knowing that Tonda could be gone for some time. Maaybe I'm reading too much into it but... Saints were disjointed today & lacked any real killer instinct. They probably know a bit more than we do.

In all honesty I don’t think we have squad to make the top 2. Lose Larin and there is nothing up front. Wolves had Jimenez on the bench last week. We can, and should make the play offs but leaving us with one striker is a risky strategy. |  |

I'm def in the keep Tonda camp. What I'm saying is in response to Dixifrog that if the FA totally fuk us up and we lose Tonda for some ridiculous period of time (they wouldn't would they?), then I'd take Howe on a temporary basis.

This unfortunately is one of the consequences of having Ward-Prowse in the team.
Too often the instinct is to go back, or at best play it sideways.
But with Jander out, we have little option, as Bragg (who I do like) is still finding his feet. |  |

I'm going to play Devils Advocate here & say that I personally don't think we'll even make the play offs, with or without Tonda.
Our squad is just not strong enough this season.
We've lost players & not replaced them or replaced them with worse players.
Dobbin is worse than Archer (hard to believe I know)
Zach Abbot at this stage of his career is not a patch on THB.
We replaced Stewart with Mubama & a fit Stewart was superior to Mubama.
Albeit unsurprisingly Stewart hasn't played a league game this season due to another injury so perhaps we've lost nothing there.
We lost Shea Charles & replaced with JWP, good financial gain for the club & JWP will do a job in this lge, bur we lost a good young player with potential.
We still have Fellows & Edozie & neither are not physically able to shine in what is a brutal lge.
And YES I'll happily eat my words if we get into the play offs. | | | |

We'll definitely finish in the top 8.
But if our away form doesn't pick up, we'll be nearer 8th than 2nd.
