At least he won't have yet another relegation on his c.v.

good point.
Bristol R went down soon after he left. He went down with us. Plymouth sunk soon after he left (although that said more about the good job he was doing on that occasion). He helped Leicester go down. Blackpool went down. Palace will go down. He's like the human equivalent of a yo-yo club.

Bare bones.

Hope this won't see Palace fluttering their eyelashes at our Arry.

Surely not. They won't set him up as well as we have.

And we Arry won't take a job north of Watford...

He didn't take us down though. We were long gone by the time he arrived

After last season I can't see 'Arry wanting to pitch up again at a basket-case club destined for relegation after the first eight games.

L Harper, T Breacker, J Darlington, M Perry, S Morrow (P Crouch, 67), M Rose, C Carlisle, R Langley, K Connolly yellow card (P Bruce, 77), S Koejoe, C Kiwomya
Subs not used: K Rowland, L Miklosko, C Plummer

Never mind keep them up, if this as boxing that fight would never have taken place.

no we weren't. We probably would have gone down under anyone, but he was very definitely in charge when we went down. He took over at the end of Feb! Had 13 games. We won one of them. We had 35 points when he took over, so needed 5 wins in 13, or 4 wins and 3 draws. That was the worst QPR team I've ever seen, but it wasn't beyond the realms of possibility that he could have saved us.

Bare bones.

Well if he was half as wonderful as many of the" rose tinted, misty aged go all gooey about IH" brigade on here then his inspirational skills would have worked. fact is we were (just) out of the bottom 3 and had 13 games to go when he joined.

This.
Massively unfair to pin the 2000/01 relegation on him. That relegation had Gerry Francis's name all over it.

Just out of the bottom three maybe, but that was the worst QPR squad I've ever seen in 30+ years, including the Div One years. They were f--king rubbish. Olly should take zero blame for that.

Sorry but every time someone posts this I feel the urge to point out the fact that we weren't even in the relegation places the day he took over.

We were fourth from bottom.

If we'd just maintained that position we'd have stayed up.

The team was sh1te and the club was on its arse. What olly rebuilt from that has shaped the club we are today.

we were in the relegation places when he took over, it was days after the 5-0 to wimbledon game, he actually got us back in with a shout with a team playing pretty well by the end of the season after he signed Wayne Brown, Andy Thompson, Leon Knight and Marcus Bignot.

The job he did after that for us long over shadows those 13 games.

Anyway sad he's gone, another English premier league manager gone, think it's only Pardew, Allardyce and Bruce left now. Thats one for thr FA Commission to look at

Shame that Palace feel they need Premier League experience, that sounds like money down the drain as they were always likely to go down and wil need championship experience again next summer, not sure who they will go for, I suppose Redknapp is a possibility but not sure thats a good move for either party.

I think people are getting their knickers in a twist. No one is blaming Olly for that relegation. We certainly weren't playing 'pretty well', however - just slightly better than in that Wimbledon game, which is not hard. Olly got 8 points from 13 games and I think even he would say he could have done better than that.
and of course he did a good job after that.
But, the point was he has that relegation on his CV. That was the point being made. It's not an attack on Olly.

Bare bones.

He didn't have Langley or Carlisle available who were probably the only two decent players and we went into Admin shortly after he arrived.

We had a few decent performances towards the end played well at Crewe, Burnley and home to Tranmere, better than before he came in anyway but still crap overall.

Palace appear to be following the QPR Premier League blueprint -

1. Desperately try to sign anyone and everyone to shore up an inadequate
squad.
2. Eventually sign players no one else really wants (For Gabbidon, Ferdinand and
Barton read Chamakh, Puncheon and Marriappa)
3. Panic and sack the Manager who'd done well to get the team promoted in the first
place.
4. Endure a miserable season and get relegated.

Not sure who will go there. I thought Nigel Clough might be a decent shout, but he's gone to Sheffield Utd. So they are left with 'route one master' Pulis or they could go foreign and employ Di Canio. They won't try to poach 'Arry will they?

Whoever goes there, they seemed doomed anyway.

There aint half been some clever bastards.

Have to laugh again at Watford really..they SO should have won that play-off final - ridiculous result for all concerned.

On a serious note, there is no way that Harry would go to Palace is there (and take AJ with him)??? SURELY not - I can't see it.

If Jol got the push, maybe...
