Finance update? 09:55 - Sep 2 with 6150 viewscpgerber

Not sure anyone have exact numbers, but hopefully someone can venture an decent guess.

So what are our finances like at the moment? Are we "healthy", "ok", "still wobbly" ?

By how much have we reduced the wage bill and what was the nett result of our transfer business? Do we still have debt and how much is that?

I think this was a very healthy revamp over the summer that has, so far, worked out well. Will next summer be more of the same? We'll need to replace the loan players, but also Eze, Chair, Manning ... so looking at another 10 coming in next year as well.

At least looks like we can get a healthy fee for our manager in case someone wants to nab him!

I believe our finances are in a OK but still need watching state. Thanks to the Management we are nowhere near a Rotherham.

I think the latest transfer window is going to be the norm for the next few seasons. Pay the ongoing FFP fine with a few sensible sales, balance the books and then see what's left to do.

'What do we want? We don't know! When do we want it? Now!'

Next season should see us in a much better place as there is £21m dropping off the rolling 3 year FFP figures then.

The grass is always greener.

In Warbs we trust... Promotion this season, trouser an obscene amount of cash whilst getting relegated during the 20-21 season, and then enjoy a happy debt-free upper table existence in the Championship for many years to come.

100% of people who drink water will die.

Would the new fans be happy with that though? They deserve better for their loyalty LOL

Fernandes has said on Twitter today that he's received an email just today that will help him and therefore the club on the road to wealth. He will be personally dealing with this "great opportunity" and hopes to see the results in the very near future...

Foney Tony with the reverse Midas touch?

The clubs finances are screwed but we're all led to believe at the end of this season we'll be slightly less screwed.

The club has been set back 20 odd years but then so has much of football in business sense.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Indeed - assuming the books are balanced now, and our wage bill is sustainable then next time we sell we can name the price (like Brentford do).

January:
Sell Eze for £15m + add-ons.
Extend BOS contract
Buy a couple of up and coming Centre Backs from Div One
Add BOS to the starting line-up again
Bring Shodipo back to the bench

May:
Sell Lumley for £x + add-ons
Sell BOS for £x + add-ons
Buy a new young goalkeeper.
Buy a new young midfield pairing
Buy a new young striker pairing
Start with Senny Dieng
Put Barnes out on loan

Jan 2020:
Sell Chair for £20m + add-ons

Etc, etc

...it’s the QPR way and when we’re not sure n the brink of FFP we can do it properly.

If by some miracle we did go up in the next few years I hope we don’t spend a penny on ‘big name’ players as we have done in our recent past and do exactly that - go up and stick with with the Championship squad that got us there (maybe buying some of the inevitable loans we had that helped get us up) pocket the money and accept relegation is a strong possibility but putting us on a strong(er) financial footing again

From the same place money for transfers/salaries would come from if not for FFP.

Perhaps there is a silver lining to FFP. The current side looks as though we are in for a good season, maybe even a punt at the play offs. With money in our pockets we may have bought a load of layabouts like in the dreaded Hughes/Redknapp era.

Thought the club didn't have to pay this and the owners had stated they will cover the cost?

I think they did say this. However under FFP if the club pay it then it will not count towards the £13M allowable debt whereas if the owners pay it I imagine it will count.

It could be a club sale, that is worrying.
At least our owners are not like the Bury owner. A new owner could well be.

That would not necessarily lead the club on the road to wealth. If it meant new owners no matter how rich they could not put any money into the club. More like movement on the training ground and/or stadium

Speaking of KB, zero points from six games this season. Not very good is it?

Southend's record so far this season is worse than Boltons.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?
