Seen this Clive?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64240085

They've been in trouble for a while and haven't heard of anyone stepping up. My brother does some work there on matchdays and he's been calling this for a while.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

Yeh I'm annoyed with myself for not lumping on a relegation there this season because they were obviously going straight through that league.

Chronic mismanagement for a long time. Gainsborough Trinity owner bought them and made all sorts of promises about a new stadium and lakeside development, bought a club that had recently been in the Championship and had a lot of very sellable assets, and has just absolutely obliterated it. The stadium is in an absolute state.

Very interesting court case going on atm between the owner and a private bookmaker who recruited him via a rep operating on a Casino floor and let him gamble up to £20m on credit. There's now a dispute over whether he owes them £1.6m or not.

My brother's told me about the stadium - they're a drowning man who's gone under twice. Didn't know about the gambler - will look it up.

It's all on The Price Of Football Twitter thread, all the court docs, some eye-opening stuff.

That turned out to be an eventful day for yours truly.

Had to get a cab home from Peterborough at 3am the following morning

Drove up from Derby. Coming off the motorway with the ground on the right we turned up the volume on London Calling and opened the windows.

At least those of us that went could say that we were there when Rob Hulse scored!

I went up with WestberksR with me driving, Rob Hulse header puts us 1-0 up and then It went wrong big time.
For once Warnock didn't or couldn't deal with It and Scunthorpe were deserved winners 4-1.
Proper friendly local people from memory, Scunthorpe then got relegated.
Long drive home.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Went up the year or two before when we won 1-0. Had to get a rail replacement from Donny go Scunthorpe. Proper toy town ground. About 3 bulbs in each floodlight. Thankfully it was an 3pm game. Locals were incredibly friendly on our pub crawl though and the price of a pint back then up there was remarkable!

Then there was that 2-2 game with the likes of Akos Buzsaky nicely balanced with Bob Malcolm in the team and Flávio enjoying the splendours of Scunny. Force 10 gale along with biblical rain blowing straight down the pitch. A real game if two halves if ever I saw one.

Thought he was Spurs fan. Although he did reckon Norwich were a team of w**kers!

I erased the 4-1 from my memory in favour of 'Akos Day' - only a 2-2, but both corkers from our mercurial, magical Magyar.

Only one of them features on this top 10 comp of his Rs belters, which shows just how good he was.
