$185 recently for my US passport. Photos were extras as their photo machine had broken.
Currently at a tournament in Fredericksburg VA. Had to go to a Walmart which was bigger then terminal 5 as I needed a kettle, forgot to bring my one from home. Also had an Indian that took my taste buds back 30 years to USA Indian food of old. Lots of beards but not the Brooklyn types. Nothing to see here.😃

Well it came today. I thought I had reasonably good colour awareness, but my blue cover appears to be black, not that I overly care, or care at all come to that.
What does catch my eye is the inside front cover...Her Britannic Majesty's blah blah blah...did I upset the new bloke, he not want to give me permission to roam the world freely under his protection?
Back to my original comment regarding expense, did all the costs of mailing / admin as I'm a johnny foreigner / DHL whatever, push up the bill I wonder. | |

Its the same colour as my US Passport, get them mixed up easy now.

I have Australian, Irish and British passports. Of the three, the British one is the one I might not bother renewing next time (still has 3 or 4 years left on it I think), as the Irish passport still provides all the old EU access.
Australian passport costs the equivalent of 175 GBP, an absolute rip off. Renewed mine recently as it makes sense to have it if you live here in terms of smoother leaving and arriving process.
The Irish one, which as I mentioned gives access to all of the EU, cost less than half that at about 75 GBP. Looking at getting them for my kids so if they go to Europe they will have loads of options in terms of where to live and work. | | | |

I still work for the BBC occasionally and see a lot of different passports, the front of ours looks magnificent, the front of some of the others looks a bit bare.
I guess thats great if you are a minimalist, I prefer a Turner or similar where it feels like you can jump into the painting and swim in the river or ride the cart over the bridge. |  |

The wife got her first ever UK passport last week. They quoted up to 10 weeks on the website but it only took two! That's without any priority processing etc which you can't do for the first one.
How often do you get that kind of completely unexpected efficiency? Not very.

Ah interesting - in the process of renewing our son's and they also quote up to ten weeks so I suppose it's a matter of them managing expectations so that you're chuffed when it turns up several weeks earlier! |  |
