Away fan friendly pub 09:40 - Dec 18 with 3149 viewswokingpaul

Looking to meet two Saints fans on Saturday for a couple of pre match beers. Looking for suggestions for a suitable pub which would also let in my two 16 year old boys. Most of the pubs I can think of are home fans only. Thanks.

The Shepherd & (the) Flock has no problems with home and away fans drinking together. Shouldn’t think they’ll worry about 16 year olds either. Get there early if you want a table - it’s a bit of a squeeze. Ambiance friendly, old school, and a little like that pub in Star Wars. Most importantly cash is king - no card transactions on a match day. Celebrity clientele include Noam Chomsky and R2D2.

It's not cheap but you can book a table at Westwood just outside Westfield Shopping centre. They do have a discount for season ticket holders as well and usually quite a few away fans in there

Went into The Broadcaster which isn’t a football pub at all before a game when I had some time to kill and it was very pleasant. Bit middle class and new White City but loads of space and no chance of any issue with your mates being there.

Thanks for the very helpful suggestions. I would prefer the Shepherd but think my two boys would rather go to the Broadcaster which I think is more family friendly and also serves food.

Crown is all three, usually a fair few away fans in there these days.

O'Donoghues on the Goldhawk Rd didn't have any restrictions last time I was in there (last season). Does a decent pint of Poretti served in a glass as well

Poll: Shamima Beghum

What, a broad selection of Taytos won't be sufficient??

Tayto. Great crisp but could do with toning down salt content. Small gripe.

If you want somewhere less crowded, friendly to mix and close to tube, Paddington/ Edgware Road. The lord Wargrave. Superb food and highly rated on Tripadvisor.

I miss the days the landlord would come round with either fried chicken or a platter of stale sandwiches.

I do love that ShepFlo has a 5 star food hygiene rating when all it serves is crisps

Yeah he'd normally get a take out from the local chicken shop and pass it round the pub. Not happened for a while - might impinge on that 5 star rating

It's absolutely eye watering isn't it

Saw Jimmy Dunne in there once though, that was fun

I only usually have a quick one after, but the Sindercombe Social seems pretty away friendly these days. Was actually more of an away pub after the Coventry and Sunderland games.

Would explain his defending if he’s been getting on it at £8 a pint every Saturday morning.
