Not the same type of Irish music, but by coincidence I happened to be listening to Phil The Fluter's Ball sung in a fake Irish accent by great Australian tenor Peter Dawson. Love that song, haven't heard it for yonks.

We had a Family do thingy years ago at the Hexagon Reading, It was a Clannad gig, we were stuck In the middle of the auditorium there were about Ten of us (wife's lot are from County Mayo) after the second song of warbling finished I quickly jumped up and said to the Mrs ''I'll see you at half time'' and quickly made my exit. Half time came and went but I never went back In and hung around the bar which was closed.
I couldn't sit through that, I done the best I could but dear oh dear good voice or not singing about a tree marrying a blue whale or at least that's what It sounded like, no make It stop, so I did, I scarpered outside.
RIP and all that.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Oh, I don't know…I found their juxtapositional use of sound ambience quite innovatory. Sorry Ted, I'll go to bed now, long day and all that.

I did the same when I took my Mrs to a Wet,wet wet concert at Wembley arena.I lasted 1 song and then headed for the bar.We were 4 rows from the stage too. Luckily the beer was a lot more reasonable priced back in the 90’s.
