A friend of mine gave me a crash course in early 1970s prog rock at the beginning of the lockdown. All the bands he mentioned would probably be suitable for this thread. Caravan. Wally.
I've settled for Premiata Forneria Marconi (or PFM for short ). Most of their stuff is in Italian but not this one.

Accordo dei Contrari are another Italian prog band worth a listen.
A band which I cannot recommend highly enough is The Future Kings of England. It's prog but with eerie undertones.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

First heard of them when I saw them support Nazareth,at the Rainbow I think, Thought they were great, went out and bought all the Albums. Used to do that a lot back then,Scorpions,Molly Hatchet,Blackfoot....all great support bands.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." (Mark Twain)

My favourite Belgian Band, Deus. Truly amazing and incredibly innovative post Beefheart music. Really found them so hard to define, but always unique. Started off as punk with added fiddles and then just evolved into something entirely new with each album.
Never knowingly understood
