Not quite as good as Matt Phillips, but very decent.

McCarthy having a good game.

Best thing that ever happened to Southampton was losing 9-0 at home.

good on them with sticking with the manager after that, it's borne fruit. And actually, good on the manager for being able to turn the team round after that.

Could hear whoops of joy from neighbours!

It was an absorbing game and fantastic defence by Saints, McCarthy et al.

Reminded me of our P/off game, great defence and a great goal, as was Hugill's yesterday.

When willl this CV nightmare end

It was a spectacular goal as was Hugill's but I wouldn't call either great.

In Adam's case you know almost any keeper, especially the City keeper, is going to be at least 25 yards from goal so just hit it first time without looking and if you get the direction, and curl, right it goes in.

In Hugill's case, you can see the keeper so just play your normal leaning back shot, get the direction correct and for once it has room to come down again!

A reminder that Southampton were in League One 9 years ago.

Another club we should be looking to as role model for sustainability. Highlights the importance of an effective Youth factory.
