Rotherham manager has agreed to join Derby as their new manager. That'll derail Rotherham's good start you'd think. Derby chucking money around again?

He’s better than that. And he should know better as well.

I rather liked Warne but he's gone down in my estimation now. Filthy lucre no doubt the draw.

Nearly six Years at Rotherham and three promotions In those six Years, after the good start that Rotherham have made this season I find this appointment a bit mad, he's stepping down a league too.

If he don't get Derby promoted and I hope he don't he might regret this move for the rest of his life.

Strange one.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

A strange one maybe, but I guess he feels their is more potential sat Derby than Rotherham if he can win promotion there.

That's a very strange fit for me. I don't see it going well.

Just finished an excellent podcast series which I would recommend to you all called Moment of Truth, which follows Karl Robinson and Paul Warne through the last three months of last season. Robinson is everything you'd expect, and less.

Warne is a weirdo. He basically doesn't want to be a football manager, constantly talking about how he didn't want the job in the first place, hates doing it, doesn't sleep, doesn't enjoy it, doesn't even enjoy winning any more because it's just a tiny bit of relief before the next stress. They win promotion on the last day at Gillingham and he sits in neil Harris' office afterwards talking about how bad it's been, how much he's hated it etc and Harris is sitting there listening to this after just being relegated. Absolutely riddled with self doubt all the way through, thinks it's gone wrong, going wrong, and is entirely his fault, and he doesn't know how to change it. Constantly talking about resigning and stepping away.

How on earth that marries up with going to Derby, where the fans are hanging them if they're not 3-0 up against Exeter after ten mins, I don't see at all. But we'll see I guess.

Maybe that is the answer.

Maybe he will only remain in management for a short period & has opted to maximise his income before stepping away.

Fail at Derby, take the compensation & walk out of the game.

Maybe. It would make sense.

Or succeed at Derby, take them up, take the bonus & walk out of the game. It doesn’t sound like either outcome would bother him that much. Think this appointment says more about Derby than Warne tbh.

Bit of a surprise as was expecting this to be his only job in management and his son has just signed for the club.Good luck to him as he is a very likeable bloke and will be a very different culture at Derby from what he’s been used to.Find it a poor decision to push Liam Rosenior out as I’ve always thought of him becoming a top manager and has had to oversee a tough period in the clubs history.

Seems like Rotherham have gone all out for Mark Bonner at Cambridge, were on the verge of appointing him today and then Bonner has pulled out. Apparently didn't target anyone else. Suppose the sacked Watford boss might be waiting for a call
