Apparently some of their fans were making monkey noises at some of our players!

Is that what caused the fight? It went off in their end during the first half.

Mad if true, given the history of their club, and the make up of their team.

It seems the spotty wannabe Danny Dyers sticking Coke up their noses right next to small kids isn’t exclusive to Rangers.

Would hope and think that it would be a tiny minority (if it’s true at all.)

I actually had a look on a Watford forum to see if there was any mention of trouble. Has been noted by some of them that there has been an increase in trouble. They mentioned fans fighting among themselves, flairs going off, trouble in concourse etc.

The was also that idiot who ran onto the pitch. To be fair, our fans were dishing out some serious abuse to one of the Watford players who was warming up. Those muppets wouldn’t have balls to talk like that on road.

Yesterday there was definitely a ‘vibe’ but it was in no way threatening. It was mostly embarrassing and must have been very annoying for the Watford fans who just want to enjoy the game.

That was some punch up . As a Watford resident for the last twenty years, I know and socialise with plenty of them . They’re a decent and passive bunch .
They were as surprised I was .
They are seriously pissed off with the club at the moment and with the clock ticking on parachute payments they’re getting worried.

Yeah I always thought they were sort of trainspotter / lawnmower enthusiast types who you’d find an excuse to walk away from when they started talking about Real Ale.

I was sceptical about the Monkey chants, because even the most die hard racists aren’t stupid enough to do that at a game anymore. Seems it could be true which is terrifying.

Fight happened right next to my Watford mate and his ten year old son. Boozed/coked up idiots being nuisances to all around them, eventually someone told them to pack it in and they were unwilling to, all kicked off from there.

Can confirm the same.
Our first house was right by Vicarage Road and Taylor rocked up. Suddenly we couldn't park outside our house on match-day it got so busy etc.

Watford's always been a friendly club, and as an R I've never felt threatened by being there.

Sad reflection now though Ownership model, management, squad, its all gone horribly wrong and with their not getting into the play-offs I can see a long downward spiral, as we know to our cost.

On the upside, that "worst run club" comment usually held by us for so many years has clearly been inherited by them. Sad but welcome.

Incidentally their message board was reading much the same as ours after a loss. Blaming the board, lack of effort, manager understanding of his squad, ....

The Response squad were also busy in the SAR. Guy who sits at the front of the SAR close to the Loft was asked to leave during the second half. Don’t know if true but evidently was using racist language. He’s sat by the gangway for many years with his daughter.

Same all over - sure most would absolutely melt if there wasn't a load of police and mates around them.

Saw as much from some of our own stone island warriors when we played Millwall recently, it's embarrassing

First scrap I've seen within LR in ages.

Took the stewards an age to get between them all!

And as for the knobhead who decided to take to the pitch after their penalty shout again it seemed ages before anyone got to him. He didn't know what to do when he actually made it onto the pitch.

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

I noticed a lot more police than I would have expected for this game and maybe that explains why.
I said to one of the coppers 'It is hardly Luton or Millwall is it?' and he just laughed and nodded his head.

I outright asked a couple of PC's if they had had some intel on trouble before the game and they said no, it was just the normal police presence. Didn't believe it then, don't believe it now.

The grass is always greener.

I thought there were less police than the massive presence for the Blackburn game, which felty really weird.

Bare bones.

That's weirdly polite for such an unpleasant comment. Perhaps he thought using the far more offensive m word was a step too far.

There seemed to be a lot more horse shit than usual on the way to the ground. Could be their fans or just feeding the horses a new mix.
