Gordon Bennett. I have no memory of doing this. Nor of ringing various American cousins late last night. Regular Saturday morning apologies to everyone.
I drank five pints of Guinness and a litre bottle of Sherry. I need a lie down.

I reckon you must still be half pissed because nobody would admit to drinking sherry otherwise. Unless you’re Mavis off Coronation Street.

I hope it was something like a decent Oloroso and not the sickly cream gunk so many Brits seem to like. Mind you, downing a litre of any fortified wine on top of 5 pints of Guinness is going to curdle your brain.

Waitrose do a surprisingly good pale sherry for only eight quid. People pooh pooh sherry, but it's a good mid strength tipple. The only booze I don't like is rum, although vodka makes me feel oddka.

Yep. A good chilled Amontillado in the sunshine is a lovely drink.
For me, I stay away from gin. Never touch the stuff though I'll sip a sloe gin as it's a completely different taste. I stay away from most cocktails though my son's old fashioned is very pleasant indeed.

You know, if there's one thing I've learnt, it's never ignore a pooh-pooh. I knew a Major, who got pooh-poohed, made the mistake of ignoring the pooh-pooh.
