Gotta be done

FFS my club

GET SIR JAMES DUNNE SIGNED UP

It concerns me he can now talk to other clubs and he’d surely be in demand on current form.
I feel he’s one of the heartbeats of the place and a 2 + 1 deal surely has to be done.

If we were looking for someone to replace our top scorer and best defender it’d cost millions

Sort it out Rangers!!!!

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

He's playing, so maybe he has.

He's 27 so a big decision for him. 2+1deal and he knows he won't command as much in wages next time. I would offer him 3+1 otherwise he might leave for a higher championship club for better wages. Could do a job for any club at this level

Seconded. He's been a monster of late, is total QPR, and a gorgeous hunk of a professional. Unlike the Undertones song, I really don't want him to disappear one day.

He is going to be low balled. He'll reject, club will say he turned down a new contract.
He'll sign for much higher wages at Bristol City or Sheffield Wednesday. At 27yo you couldn't blame him.

It's what we do.

We've done it before and we'll do it again. Sorry!

I don't think any of those out of contract will be kept. Obviously I'd like Dunne to stay though.

I agree with Wilkins, he's performances this season has been great and he could probably get into most teams in the Championship, he's played with us right back and centre back so he's versatile. I also think he could play DM as he seems fairly comfortable on the ball. He's such a threat with his head.

He could get double the wages at another club, like someone pointed out he's 27 now. He needs to think about his future after football. Obviously I would love him to stay but the cold hard truth is that he could make a lot more money elsewhere and that's what his agent will unfortunately be telling him. Hopefully the club gives him an offer he can't refuse.

Take it with a huge pinch of salt, as you should anything on the internet, but I was told he’s signed a new deal and it’s just awaiting announcement. We have unsurprisingly taken the 12 month option on Chair as well.

Regarding the 1 year extension for Chair, doesn't that only happen at the end of the contract? Or can that be "activated" at any time during the contract?

If we're going by Football Manager (and if not, why not?) I think the extension can be activated within the last year of the contract

Shit but local

Assumptions are doing a lot of work here, unless you really do have that level of knowledge of Championship wages.

So Chairs contract is up at the end of this season? I don't know why but I had it in my head that it was until 2026 (plus the one year extension option). I'm probably wrong though.

He will, if he has not already, be offered an improved contract. Providing it is a competitive offer I believe that he will sign - he is enjoying his life at QPR, 100%.

Still think we should sign Saito. Useful player to have in a squad and always gives us something on the left

There is no way the club will “break the bank” to keep him. It’s how we now operate and you’d have to say with Willock and Armstrong the club got it right. I assume Cook and Colback had hefty wage increases this season so the pot can’t be that high.
I’d love him to stay but at 27 he has to do the right thing financially for him and his family. He will have plenty of takers.
