| GREAT EFFORT TODAY....... 18:08 - Jan 11 with 2606 views | thompsonridd | Very proud of the squad, especially, Walsh, Dunne, Cook, Smyth, Kolli and Bennie. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone. Such a relief to take them to the wire. Also, with a very depleted squad, reckon Burrell would have enjoyed today with his pace | | | | |
| GREAT EFFORT TODAY....... on 18:22 - Jan 11 with 2439 views | BrianMcCarthy | I thought the players out there gave a fine effort, but you've nailed it with your second sentence: the depleted squad killed us. In a match of fine margins, we were without far too many key players, and lost two more during the match. | |

Nonetheless they pretty much went toe to toe overall Brian. But I agree, from 10 days ago thinking, well we only need perhaps 1 or 2 players in the window, perhaps we now need 3 or 4. Particularly with Poku, JCS and a few others including Burrell out for some time. What on earth has happened with Vale? I mean, yes he had a stinker last time out, but he is a player we should be bringing through. He's only 22 despite the hairline.

| GREAT EFFORT TODAY....... on 18:34 - Jan 11 with 2283 views | CLAREMAN1995 | I thought Bennie was very poor today did nothing to make his mark or maybe I am wrong. Burrell does so much pressing it was sad to see nobody do that West Ham are so suspect at the back we would have ripped past them with RB. Couple of poor decisions by Saito and Koli hurt us in the first half and wtf is going on with Dembele (apart from his assist) he was shocking IMO. Might beat Oxford or SW in that game but the Hammers had too much pace and dept in the end Still proud of QPR tonight lets rest up and attack the league with that heart | | | |
| GREAT EFFORT TODAY....... on 18:49 - Jan 11 with 2143 views | Paddyhoops | Didn’t see the game but listened on BBc London . Good commentary and Bradley Allen bigged up us up big time . Sounds like we tired towards the end but considering our injury list we did well . Cooky and Dunne played well and Allen was impressed with Kolli . Hope everyone enjoyed their day out . Gutted to miss it but onwards and upwards. | | | |
| GREAT EFFORT TODAY....... on 18:52 - Jan 11 with 2077 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Yes, we effectively drew with a Premier League team. See you next season, lads. Without sounding too much like those online guys who hate Field, but I do think we should sell him. If RND stays on, I think we take it to penalties. He nearly cost us a goal with some appalling play, then it's his man who scores the winner. Harsh maybe but he looked far more like a couple of levels below them, whereas the likes of Kolli looked at home. | | | |

If we had been able to keep the starting 11 together for a lot longer I think the result might have been different.
| GREAT EFFORT TODAY....... on 19:10 - Jan 11 with 1874 views | FDC | Players looked dead on their feet by the end. Kolli looked done in by the time he came off. Kone was very laboured by the end. Tricky for JS because each sub (Smyth aside) weakened the team. As others have said, squad depth the big difference today. Walsh had a strange game, I thought he would cost us with his nervousness at crosses, but ended up keeping us in it with some fine saves. Good shot-stopper / suspect at crosses...? Rings a bell. Feel like Smyth deserves a mention. If the ref is on his side he can be hugely effective, and this was one of those days - he won us free kicks all afternoon. I know he can be limited, but for me his energy and work rate was important to getting us back in to the game. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Thought Walsh did ok at the corners - the first couple, Bowen's delivery was very good and with seemingly most of the players on the pitch in the 6 yard box, it was very difficult to move. Thought Smyth did well although he good booked for a good tackle where he actually won the ball.

Walsh realised catching corners in a congested 6 yard box was too risky, After that punched superbly maybe 3 more corners, on top of that 2 superb & 2 very good saves, new No 1 after today.

What game did you watch were Kolli hurt us? I thought he looked class when he actually got the ball Dembele got a superb assist and made a couple more half chances. I thought he was our threat and when he went off - we were cooked Saito also got injured very early in so another harsh assessment What game did you watch?

| GREAT EFFORT TODAY....... on 21:07 - Jan 11 with 1399 views | Watford_Ranger | Was a bit disappointed tbh even taking into account the injuries. First half we were very poor when they were also very poor. Obviously a horrific time to concede and such an avoidable goal. Competed much better second half but then their fitness was so much better than ours. We have good facilities, train as often as they do and they had a game midweek. We’ve discussed our injuries to death but the stamina of some of them seems poor. A fitter team quite possibly goes on to nick it. Great day before and all that. Great celebrations for the goal, some good individual performances but came away feeling it was a real missed opportunity more than a brave performance. | | | |

I know you were at the game so I will obviously respect your opinion over a tv viewer anyway was takling about 2 snapshots early on.Saito was coming down endline should have squared ball across to 2 QPR players but tried to squeeze it in and it was saved. Kolli had a free header fromour corner ( huge West Ham weakness) and instead of heading it back into the danger area he tried to score and it flew wide big chance there . Apart from that he was excellent fair play to the lad. Dembele came across as weak like always and yes he did have an great assist but his selfish effort from our free kick was pretty poor.I thought he would be taken off at the half . Speaking of half time how soul crushing was it for us to give up another goal just as the ref is about to blow his whistle we have to cut that sh*t out

Sam had a shocker but he's proved his quality with us before. Plus he had a shocker at left back rather than midfield, having had very little game time all season. Big ask. He is the type of player who needs a consistent run to show his best, although with Hayden playing well I can't see him getting it.

Yes, it does feel harsh and he was playing out of position but I can see why Stephan has dropped him. If we're looking to play a more technical style, his touch is just not good enough a lot of the time. If we do sell Varane, I presume he'll get some more game time this season but I reckon he'll be gone in the summer. On the positive side, it was great to see Walsh play so well - that position might not be such an issue going forward. So that leaves the full back positions and that mythical box-to-box midfielder and then we will have a very decent side.

That's the point he's filling in at left back, totally not his natural position because we've been left very exposed in that position. It's all about opinions for me Sam is as good a defensive midfielder as Varane, he can also play centre back, in an emergency play left back, that makes him very versatile and you need that type of player in a squad, particularly when injuries start to bite.

If true, that would be a huge mistake, Brilliant CDM, decent left sided CB and can cover Left Back, Been a great signing for us & I would argue we will see the real potential in this squad when he's back in the Starting XI, This club still needs players who care & who are nearly always available & give 100%, we're along way from being out of the woods as a club & Field is one of the good guys.
