If he had stayed ‘fit’ and with Jamaica, he would have flown back on the Thursday and been a doubt for the WHam game anyway, because of jet lag etc.
Hopefully his ‘injury’ is a tactical one, like the ones Ryan Giggs used to ‘get’ which prevented him playing in Wales’ friendlies. |  | | |

To be fair, a disgusting tackle in a youth game and getting injured on international duty, isn’t really something you can legislate for but get the point, they didn’t need to go early on that, as you do run the risk of it all changing very quickly | | | |

We'd already had a week where Lamptey, Dunne, Kone, Chair and Smyth had all failed to last the first half of games (Dunne managed one minute after half time). I did say at the time I'd probably have gone for a downplay and "let's see how we do over the course of the season" than describing it as "sensational" and namechecking the whole performance department.
Where I do agree with him is that the schedule players have been put through to start this season is nutty and was always likely to lead to this. Millwall have got 13 out, Norwich are missing 12 including four picked up this break. Problem is this has been happening to us for three seasons now. | | | |

It also makes a mockery to limit squad sizes to 25 given how many games they are asked to squeeze into the ever growing fixture list. | | | |
