Actually I am a Purser with our 'national (former)' carrier with almost 36 years in the company. I have led my life in a haze of jet lag and night flights and chasing my tail every time I was home for two or three days between flights, trying to have a family life and getting to Loftus Road. Have slowed down a little these days as my daughters drive themselves, I have reduced hours and been a sole season ticket holder for the last four seasons, previously I shared one with another Purser R, and have only missed four home matches in that time and attended a few away as well. My wife, who I met on the job (so to speak!), is a converted R and comes to a several matches as well

Mrs West is ex crew but hasn't managed to catch the footy bug, did find that during our early years when she still flew it was great for a bit of peace and quiet to go to matches when she was working at weekends.

75% is about the perfect contract on the old terms; i've loads of clients and friends still flying (and quite a few that have had enough and left), most on those terms now.

I work in marketing/promotions in a Casino. It took a while to get past seeing the tragedy (imo) of seeing people wasting their days and money they don't have gambling, ie, losing money but the actuial job I do is great, I love it. Very chilled, no real pressure or stress although the money is shite and the hours are non office, so all very different from being the City banker that I was in my previous job (life).

I think what comes to light from reading this thread is that Bosh67 and Mytch should collaborate on a script with A40Bosh doing the screenplay for DiscoDroids life story. I'd watch it, though probably from behind the sofa.

When I left sixth form college I had A levels in Art, Computing and French. I was qualified to paint French computers, but there was little demand in this sector. "Hiya.........What time are we being fed?"

They will never buy food on Saturday morning/lunchtime to eat that day if they are playing at a function that is feeding them for free later that night.
