Global Real Estate Director for a blue chip company.

We've got a few property people on here so I think the time is right for us all to band together to form Queens Park Realty.

You know it makes sense.

Poll: Where will we finish up next season?

Construction site Manager for a very large construction Company (16,000 staff). Been with them for 34 years now, hospitals, schools-academies every type of education build going as we're on so many education frameworks now. Prisons, mental hospitals-normal hospitals-football grounds-underground railway tunnel links-airports and so on.
I only deal now with the client 'issues' after handover now so i'm listening to people talking shit all day and moaning about just about anything they can.
As a long time Socialist and ex Labour party member I sold my Company shares a couple of days ago and grabbed a bit fat profit, in other words I just 'sold out to meself' so I'm naturally feeling disgusted and ashamed.

Bollox, have you ever smelt a big wedge of new bank notes? they smell lovely.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

I've always fancied being a lighthouse keeper Did you enjoy it Moray?

Glad to see some disilliusioned posts on here. I'd retire tomorrow if I could, but I'm 41, so I can't.

Currently I do one job as a researcher/program developer for an employment program in Harlem and another job as a health policy fellow for the NY state senate (which actually involves a lot of working from home in one's y-fronts.)

As soon as/ if I ever get my part time PhD finished, I'm going to start looking at the job market in London again - see how that goes. Or that's the official, rational plan anyway. What I'm more likely to do is say "fcuk this career shyte", sign up for a credit card and go off taking photos of various places for six months. Then come back and face reality.

Being a lighthouse keeper has this romantic image but as far as Im concerned it was a crap job boring as hell Did give you a free house electricity coal etc which was the attraction But it did give me the chance to have quality time with our new baby daughter and to do things like making creels and going lobster fishing which I couldnt do in West London, which was the whole point of moving to Scotland

Social life was weirdly good, loads of parties in the village Seemed to be permanently drink driving Played for the village football team right midfield.Ultimately too much of a move from life in London, needed to get back to some sort of civilisation

We'rWeree you only a keeper at Mull of Kintyre Moray?
It was the moving about every 4-5 yrs that I didn't like, I stayed in Isle of Man as a 16 yr old rather than move near to you in Dingwall as it happens.
For those that don't know the Scottish and Isle of Man lighthouses are run by one organisation (Northern Lighthouse Board) and the English ones are run by Trinity House. You ggotet moved regular as there are some bleak places so everyone knew they weren't stuck somewhere for life

Secondary school PE Teacher.

Done well it's hard work, extreme hours in term-time but unbelievable job satisfaction. I like to think I'm in that category.

In a massive minority unfortunately. The industry is plagued with 'easy lifers'.

You should talk to SHotKneesHoop - He was a PE teacher in the 1960's - and still hosts college re-unions to this very year.

York Ranger = Neighbourhood Watch coordinator? Haha only joking

In my 'fishy business' (used to be self employed but not atm) I am involved in buying /landing roughly 500 tonne of brown crab per year along with 40 tonne lobster and 200-300 tonne velvet and green crabs. Big business in Scotland and important for Orkney too, obviously.
Ball bag may have eaten Necoras Cangreco and Bogavante from my neck of the woods. I've eaten the Goose Barnacles in his avatar and very tasty they were too, but I prefer paying the prices for shellfish in Orkney rather than Spain it has to be said!

Knackered old Firefighter, and on my days off I am a knackered old on call firefighter. I get 35 days away from the Fire Service each year and during this time I can leave Suffolk. I have to be tea total 330 days of the year! My on call status restricts my ability to see games but after 27 years I still enjoy what I do.

I shovel shit, human and animal shit, one day my life will be entirely shit free.

Actually I do spend a large part of each winter shovelling shit, strictly animal and well rotted at that. Not a bad thing either, when its freezing outdoors. About to embark on a week of cutting and stacking hay.

I'm either a horticulturalist, a small business man or a manual labourer, depending on mood.

Also full-time single-parent, which is the thing that drives me onto here.
