Furlong Hall sounds like the big house in a Dick Francis whodunnit.

I was thinking P.G.Wodehouse...

Anybody who hasn't experienced the joy of reading P.G.Wodehouse should rectify that asap. So lovely.

The Dubai version or standard?

I’m surprised Eze and Freeman starting and I wouldn’t have done that myself. I would’ve brought them on 2 mins from end to cup tie them though!!!

Two of the best players on the pitch.

I love that Freeman comes to the game on the tube. Still get angry when I think about Agyemang's fcking Bentley with its personal plates.

I'm a bit late to this, but luke freeman takes the central line from Stratford to white city!? how he does that, and then puts in proper box to box shifts, is pretty impressive

His girlfriend runs a card shop in Westfield. Mate of mine works in the shop next door and says Freeman often does a few hours to help out before home games. Nice bloke apparently and does most of their seasonal window displays for Christmas, Easter, Valentines etc. Has a real eye for it, according to my mate. I think it's the Card Factory.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

That's right.

He helped her set up the shop after his own chain of menswear retailers went under. Not sure what his former colleagues Hardy and Willis are up to now though.

Remember Evil Les had a Porsche.

It is up to them what they waste their wad on. Better than wasting it on a football club...oh wait...doh!

Apparently Freeman was there at six o'clock this morning working on the Valentine's window! My mate had a bit of a chat with him as he was opening-up. Reckons Pompey will be tough, but doable and is confident that Rangers can get in the play-offs. He's getting very frustrated with Head Office as there's still no news on when the Valentines balloons will be in stock - he can't complete the window until then.

Les Ferdinand was one of the greatest centre forwards in the world at that time. Patrick Agyemang wasn't even the best centre forward in his immediate family.

I sometimes get the Central Line from Bank to White City for home games. It's not a strenuous journey if you get a seat and have something to read. It has never affected my ability to drink three pints and then climb the steps to the Upper Loft.

Clive, I agree with you on almost everything as you know, but we do slightly diverge on this. A Bentley costs about £150k - totally out of the reach of you or I. But a single guy earning even £5k a week could rapidly afford to buy one, and even with a modest signing on fee wouldn't need to save. I know 'football's gone' and all that, but I wouldn't begrudge him that. He always seemed like a pretty decent sort to me, and some people like to lavish money on cars. God knows why.

Bare bones.

He hasn't said anything to my mate about that. Reckons he is very happy at Rangers - would like to play in the Premier League at some point, but reckons he can get there with QPR. He did say that one of the good things about his girlfriend working for Card Company, is that if he got a move, she could probably get a transfer to a shop in that town/city, but he was just focusing on QPR (and the Valentine's display) at the moment and wasn't looking to move.

I remember Les parking that on the estate opposite the ground, right by Mckay House and he never had any trouble with it. Remember him driving up on more than one occasion and leaving it there. Now they're all parked in the school behind the locked gates..

i agree people should be free to spend their money as they wish

having said that, its pretty short sighted to spend that kind of cash on a car even if you are on 5k a week (which is about half that after the tax man).. considering he was on league 1/league 2 wages for the last 7-8 years

on the topic, in the summer of 2015, a mate of mine who ran a company which specialised in financings for really expensive cars contacted me... there was a footballer who wanted to buy a flash car, and they were assessing his creditworthiness and whether itd be prudent to extend him a loan for a sh*tload of money... my friend googled the player, saw he played for qpr and asked me what i knew about him...

that player was adel taarabt....

Mate, could you re-post this around the 12 Feb so I can stay in the good books with my GLW. Head like sieve, me.

Ta.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

I like Konk, I really do, a most entertaining and witty poster. So I'm sorry to say this, but I do suspect there might be a tiny question mark about the complete veracity of his Luke Freeman related posts.

It’s normally quieter in the front or back carriages and you can normally get a seat there. The downside is a longer walk to the stairs, which might affect his performance over 90 mins.

Kind of agree on this. It's crazy that old Dave was on that sort of money, but not really his fault he was, and he's got to spend the money on something.

I think in Les' biog he said he went out and bought a flash car after his mum died because it made him think "sod it, we're all going to die sooner than we want, I'd better enjoy it while I've got it."

Yeah, but if you get off at Shepherds Bush then the front carriage is ideal for the stairs. It's my favourite if I get on at Bond Street from the Jubbly line. Gotta conserve as many calories as possible.
