I like Konk, I really do, a most entertaining and witty poster. So I'm sorry to say this, but I do suspect there might be a tiny question mark about the complete veracity of his Luke Freeman related posts.

I'm just telling you what my mate told me, mate. Professional footballers have a lot of spare time, it's a short career and I've just dug out an old Bristol City v Fulham programme, and the Q&A profile is on Freeman:
Q. What would you be if your weren't a footballer?
A. Easy. Visual Merchandiser. All day long. If I could dress Liberty's window just once, I could die happy! I've got sketchbooks full of ideas! I don't care what season, but Christmas would be special'.

So, that ties in with what my mate's said; I've no reason to doubt him.

Can we let him have a go at the Blue & White Bar, then?

It’s normally quieter in the front or back carriages and you can normally get a seat there. The downside is a longer walk to the stairs, which might affect his performance over 90 mins.

He was in the middle. Me and my son were the only QPR fans in the carriage, he was happy to chat. He also agreed with me about Villa fans being arrogant and earnt extra bonus points by adding “ also John Terry is there”

Footballers on public transport. Years years years ago my Uncle (a Spurs supporter) was on the rush hour tube in London when a fellow seated passenger caught his eye. With long hair and a scraggly beard he was dressed in creased white linen trousers, a billowy white shirt, and a pair of flip-flops and seemed to be in another world reading his Spanish newspaper. It wasn't until a few weeks later when the football season started that Unc realised who it was. "The flipping Gypsy bloke" was only Ricky Villa. Bom-bo-leo!

I love that Freeman comes to the game on the tube. Still get angry when I think about Agyemang's fcking Bentley with its personal plates.

I don't think I am imagining this but I seem to remember seeing one of his personalised number plated motors parked in the car park at Harrow Boro when we played there one pre-season and it was a big black merc but he also had the AMG pumped badge replaced with AGY . It was that bit got to me

When I was sat outside the players bar before the villa game Freeman came up the stairs looking like a schoolboy with a little satchel across his back.Maybe it was full of his homework?

About 14 years ago I was on the tube late morning and it was pretty l quiet and suddenly two guys jumped on the fairly empty carriage and sat opposite me. They were animatedly discussing something in what sounded like Spanish and I looked up and then and noticed the small chap, who looked a lot like a musceteer and instantly realised it was Gino. He was with his agent and they were getting the tube, then the train to Forest who he was signing for! I remember thinking surely it would have been easier to drive especially as neither of them seemed to have a clue what was happening or where they were going. I think they nearly missed their stop and almost dived our of the closing doors!

Apparently Freeman was there at six o'clock this morning working on the Valentine's window! My mate had a bit of a chat with him as he was opening-up. Reckons Pompey will be tough, but doable and is confident that Rangers can get in the play-offs. He's getting very frustrated with Head Office as there's still no news on when the Valentines balloons will be in stock - he can't complete the window until then.

Konk, this cannot genuinely be true! I want it to be; I love the idea, but you're having us on here. Well, me anyway.

All of us who live in London know that public transport is the least stressful way to get around. I've got a car but I wouldn't dream of driving up to town in it, or driving to a Rangers game. Lukey is a bright boy. BTW I had a chat with the boy Oteh on White City tube platform last season - on his way home to Orpington by public transport - another sensible lad.

Ummm...give me enough cash, i'd probably never get the tube again. I like taxis in London, tube is grim. If you know where you're going, buses are usually better than the tube as well, nice view.

It's funny you should relate that story, Danny, cos imagine Ricky Villa and Ossie Ardiles' surprise when they were driving back from a Spurs function last year and realised they had my old Painter & Decorator, Ronnie Kidd, in the back of the motor. A lovely bloke and good quality work for a fair price, for those of you looking for a decorator in the North London area. And if you get him started on Chelsea, sit back and enjoy the 30+ minute outpouring of bile, venom and disgust. He hates Chelsea.

i agree people should be free to spend their money as they wish

having said that, its pretty short sighted to spend that kind of cash on a car even if you are on 5k a week (which is about half that after the tax man).. considering he was on league 1/league 2 wages for the last 7-8 years

on the topic, in the summer of 2015, a mate of mine who ran a company which specialised in financings for really expensive cars contacted me... there was a footballer who wanted to buy a flash car, and they were assessing his creditworthiness and whether itd be prudent to extend him a loan for a sh*tload of money... my friend googled the player, saw he played for qpr and asked me what i knew about him...

that player was adel taarabt....

Was the car a BMW M4 or M5?

His girlfriend runs a card shop in Westfield. Mate of mine works in the shop next door and says Freeman often does a few hours to help out before home games. Nice bloke apparently and does most of their seasonal window displays for Christmas, Easter, Valentines etc. Has a real eye for it, according to my mate. I think it's the Card Factory.

Good let's encourage this and persuade him that we are the club best placed for him to follow his current and future careers.

Some clubs give players the captaincy to keep them sweet - could well be that Freeman would respond well to the added responsibility of managing visual merchandising in your club shop? I know Briatore is a div, but I think Freeman would have enjoyed some of Briatore's boutique offerings (I'm thinking the cashmere knitwear, velvet slippers etc).

You're spot on there - and Mick too with his looky-likeys.

Danny: I'm not gonna tell Ronnie you reckon he looks like Merson, cos he's got a few Arsenal issues (although he hates Chelsea more - fair play). He's a lovely bloke - sent me a good luck message when we played at Wembley. Gent.

I can't believe I'm having my integrity challenged when all I'm doing is faithfully passing on information from a mate. Anyhow, ridiculous that I have to go to these lengths, but here's a picture of me working from home that I got my wife to take this morning. The unconventional angle is to preserve my anonymity. Please note the Filofax towards the top right corner of the image. Apology accepted, now let's move on.
