Apart from the fact most ITK’s are about as reliable as SSN on transfer deadline day, when posts are signed off with things like you heard it here first, remember who spilled beans first, and so on, there’s clearly an attention seeking narcissistic at work or, and why I mentioned QBPete, an agenda. Its more than just a bit of fun.
QBP arrived out of nowhere and immediately battered the message board on a daily basis with all sorts of questions about favourite players, teams, managers etc and it went so far as what newspapers you read, your favourite breakfast and the colour of your underwear (I kid you not). Then the ITK’s started, lots of them. It got to the point where people were missing trains home (no smartphones then so you had to sit at your computer at work) because the club would announce such and such signing at 5pm on Tuesday. Then when it didn’t happen it was now not Tuesday but Thursday. More missed trains. None of them ever materialised, not one.
It got so bad that Jim Frayling (I think) had to come onto the message board to put the record straight that there were never any such signings in the pipeline.
The tone of the rumours from QBP quietened down a bit but they still happened, probably because he was so close to Palladini his job was more than likely to drip feed and destabilise the fan base. Sadly it worked.
Maybe none of this is happening now but when the early signs are very similar one cannot help but feel cautious especially from someone seemingly in their 40’s rather than a millennial who has grown up with this instant-on culture.

Scotch eggs originated in Whitby, North Yorkshire in the 19th century, and were originally covered in fish paste rather than sausage meat. They were supposedly named after William J. Scott & Sons, a well-known eatery which sold them. The dish does not use gravy and is made with boiled eggs wrapped in minced pork, herbs and spices, and coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried and more often served cold. Legend says that it may have come from nargisi kofta but no one really knows.
