Been playing with Photoshop while twiddling my thumbs waiting for the news that Moses has signed, pondering the almost illegible black shirt numbers used on Saturday.
Maybe the shirts were bashed out quickly (no player names) for the friendlies and Lee Hoos' economy drive insisted on user cheaper black inks...
Surely we have to have something that can be read though come the start of the season?

New shirts looked great but were let down by the numbers which you couldn’t read properly. Hopefully it was just a rush job and they get something better in for the season proper. Another vote for red. |  |

Not sure how to link to other threads, but if you look at the thread titled "Sound and Vision" you'll see it confirmed that the numbers used on Saturday are the ones that will be used, but the club reckons they're more visible when the player's name is printed above and the number moves down. | | | |

I thought it was just me. I couldn't make out the numbers on the highlights. The gold numbers were particularly difficult too, watching only what they decide to show us here in Oz. There were a lot of new faces at that time, and it took me about half the season to work out who I was looking at. Red numbers for me all day long. |  | | |

It's not just the colour, it's the stupid stencil-type breaks - that's one reason why the photo-shopped red version with yellow or gold filling the gaps looks so much better.
