| Best ever loan signing 13:20 - Jan 26 with 10479 views | Tonto | Hopefully Mr Sanderson will get the opportunity to be added to this list one day - but who are our stand outs? I might (with Clive's permission) turn this into a poll once we have the nominations: I have great memories of Mark Kennedy back in 98. was gutted he signed permanently for Wimbledon. Jojo last year has probably claimed nomination too. thoughts? | |

| Best ever loan signing on 20:24 - Jan 26 by mase | A few that haven't been mentioned yet, all from around the same time when we were in trouble in 2007/8 - Bolder, Cullip, Idiakez. I also liked Michael Mancienne and was disappointed we couldn't sign him. Jimmy Smith also looked decent and got us a couple of good results - Palace and Norwich spring to mind. |
Those are good shouts, maybe not best but important for where we were at the time
| Best ever loan signing on 22:08 - Jan 26 with 1996 views | numptydumpty | As a combination, the four last season made a massive impact last term, although none of them as yet have proved as good now they are permanent signings. Deadline day signing both Wells and Hugill added 30 goals that season. And was Ravel Morrison a loan or short term permanent contract. I know he was during the Redknapp era and as has been said in training, seems one of best players in the country but never seems to settle but he did get six or seven goals from midfield in around nine games and ensured we had our Zamora day !!! But for me in terms of quality - am with others - Routledge and Walker were great signings | |

Jordi López. Came in 2009 on a free from Real Mallorca and played all of 10 games before leaving for Swansea, then managed by Paulo Sousa.

| Best ever loan signing on 15:16 - Jan 26 by Ned_Kennedys | Andrew Davies, blond central defender from Middlesbrough Martin Cranie was very good as well |
I forgot about Andrew Davies, yeah he was really good. Martin Cranie looked immense (did he break his leg with us?) anyway he was never the same player after.

| Best ever loan signing on 23:21 - Jan 26 with 1898 views | VancouverHoop | View on Sanderson from a Sunderland supporter: "He was excellent for us in the latter half of last season. Granted it’s only L1 but I don’t think I’ve seen our fanbase so united in wanting a player signed for a long time. Unfortunately it took an injury crisis before our head coach realised he’d been ignoring the best player at the club in favour of a combination of the donkeys still leaking the goals that’ll still see us in L1 next season." | | | |

Jordi is now managing Terrassa FC in Spain, 4th tier, kind of national league/regional kind of standard. I'm going to see them on Sunday so I'm glad I've just discovered this [Post edited 26 Jan 2022 23:27]

I thought we signed Bolder & Cullip rather than loaning them. They were definitely still with us at the start of the next season.

| Best ever loan signing on 12:44 - Jan 27 with 1576 views | dsw2509 | For me it is between Kyle Walker, Andros Townsend and Adel Tarabt. Adel did much if his stuff once he signed full time. Best one while on loan-Kyle Walker for me. It was obvious he would go places (sadly not with us). | | | |
