Shouldn't have started this thread in hindsight so deleted my original post. Apols Clive.

It’s on the daily Mail website, not going to post the link, surely his career will be over after that.

His Man Utd career is over because of the affect on the brand
but if his entire career is going to be ended it will require football to develop a moral compass.

Quite right.

John Terry and Joey Barton still have careers.

I’m not commenting on this beyond to agree with what’s been posted above.
More of a question really, if you were beaten up would you a) go to the police or b) post pictures on your social media accounts?

If proven to be him then he is done in football and should be prosecuted.

In this day and age people will probably do both

not sure of the whole story but fair to assume another young player, too rich, too much time on his hands, self importance and hides behind agents and a legal team!

This is not a matter for social media, it should be left for the police and the justice system to
sort out.By the way there is no such thing as 'guilty as seems apparent'.

Maybe we should all do Clive a favour and leave this one alone.

You make a good point re innocent until proven guilty, none of us know the story.

However, given the incredibly low conviction rates for rape and other forms of domestic abuse and given the expensive legal team someone like Greenwood could quickly assemble, IF the claims by the young lady concerned are genuine then I don't blame her in the least for going public as well as hopefully going to the police.

If the claims are fabricated then its obvs a disgraceful thing to do to someone's reputation - but IN GENERAL lack of convictions and even prosecutions of domestic abusers seems to be a much bigger problem than miscarriages of justice (ie innocent people being convicted).

Criminal case active now so nothing which may prejudice a future jury can be published, on here or anywhere else.

have to say some credit to Man Utd for being so strong, they would not have been the first club to stand by their man as innocent until proven guilty but they have removed a big player for them until the case is settled. Also answers the question about why Southgate wouldn't pick him.

I’m starting to wonder if I’m the last person in this country who wishes to uphold the concept of ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

It is absolutely fundamental to a civilised society and I’m puzzled so many educated people fail to see it.
