| Southampton manager gone on 11:09 - Nov 8 by DWQPR | Nowhere near it. Warnock was certainly marmite for a lot of people but he had humour too and could be self-deprecating. I liked Warnock before he came here, I liked him when he was here and enjoyed listening to him since. And having spent a bit of time in his company he came across as a top class person. Jones on the other hand. Happily run him over and then reverse for good measure. Danny Paddock’s’ description summed it up for me. Just waiting for the Danny Paddocks ‘treatment’ of him now. 😂 |
Fully agree. With Warnock there was always an element of pantomime villain while he was at other clubs, and you could always laugh at or appreciate the role he played. Couldn't ever imagine feeling the same about Nathan Jones if he ever became our manager. John Terry is another example, as some people are just and always will be c*nts.
| Southampton manager gone on 12:52 - Nov 8 with 4928 views | queensparker | The club that inevitably appoints John Terry to his first and last managerial job will be forever marked as c–ts for all time. How anyone sees that scrote as a viable choice for manager is beyond me. During the whole Beale saga I read Wolves fans actively campaigning for him. Blows the mind | | | |
| Southampton manager gone on 13:04 - Nov 8 with 4888 views | TacticalR | In the past Southampton felt like one of those well-organised clubs that was always one step ahead (good youth system, finding managers from abroad, or finding up and coming managers) so had a niche in the Premier League. Now there are a few more around clubs like this, Brighton and Brentford for example, so their position has become a bit more precarious as other teams are competing for the same resources using the same methods. | |

I am disappointed Forest have got their act together, I was enjoying that one too. Everton nah, we've got enough trips to the bloody north west, need some southern balance. Would be funny though I agree.
| Southampton manager gone on 08:03 - Jan 5 with 3727 views | Metallica_Hoop | Everton will stay up they always do. I was looking up when we beat Man City at Lofus Road in the Championship/Div 1 and realised it is 20 years ago this year Seaman came back got abuse in the spirit of things then got a massive clap and SWP ripped us a new one. 20 years! wtf. | |

Cooper does seem to be a good coach and their strategy can’t be faulted if they do stay up as they could establish themselves as a Wolves or Leicester to be a long term tenant in the Premie League. As for Nathan from the Rhondda Valleys, get tub thumping to the dole queue. Despite being ex-Watford, Edwards has taken his mantle very quickly at EasyJet FC. The Welsh Spartan act maybe on its way to to Ton Pentre FC (up the Bulldogs), no tears shed.

This is just the sort of club we should be looking to emulate, along with Swansea who are showing the way. Sorry about the delay between posting this and it appearing, but I only have dial up.

He said that the Southampton fans only sang twice, once at the start with "When the Saints go marching in", and once when they joined the Forest fans in singing "Nathan Jones is a w anker". He thought Southampton were shit and nailed on to go down

You risk things ending quickly if you behave as Jones does though. When it's going well all the exaggerated chest thumping, dreadful behaviour on the touchline, abuse of match officials, ridiculous post match interviews and just general cntishness make you "a bit of a character". Oooooh he's a twt isn't he? But he's our twt. A bit like Warnock, though I could sit and listen to Warnock lie to me about Adel all day, whereas Jones makes me want to put my head in the oven after five minutes. When things aren't going well it burns off all your credit waaaaay quicker than it normally would. Because not only are things not going well, but this bloke's obviously a fcking knobber as well. I remember when he was at Stoke they got a 0-0 at ours after Clucas got sent off after 10 minutes - a truly horrific game of football, we were at a really low ebb under McClaren. At the end he stormed the School End, giving it all the chest beating thing, celebrating like he'd won the World Cup, and the Stoke fans just looked back at him like he was fcking potty.

The guy is a total c nut. Which is why watching his ongoing Southampton car crash is so much fun. Sadly, he will likely be out before the end of January at this rate and they might get someone competent in.

I wonder if prospective new employers are allowed to see manager's in action at their current club? If you'd see this you wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Maybe clubs don't allow it for all sorts of reasons including not wanting other clubs to see their pre-match preparations etc. as well as destabilising the situation and so on. All understandable so I wonder how clubs are able to asses prospective new managers? No wonder each generation has a clutch of managers on the merry-go-round. This generation seems to be him, Lampard, those that have been at Watford and so on. [Post edited 6 Jan 2023 10:33]
