| Tyler Roberts 19:54 - Apr 13 with 5512 views | dmm | There are a couple of sites such as this one - https://www.leedsunited.news/n - saying we'll sign Tyler Roberts on a perm should we stay up. Surely not. This must be clickbait. My understanding is there was an *option* to sign him on a perm for £4m and not an obligation as we have with Brighton and Taylor Richards. That would be an outlay we simply could not and should not be making for a player with an outrageously bad injury record. | | | | |

| Tyler Roberts on 10:00 - Apr 14 by Northernr | It's the Cbeebies demographic of football supporter for whom it's all about signings. It doesn't matter if the player isn't very good, if the player has been here all year and is sht, if he's injured, or anything really, it's a signing, and all signings are exciting and all signings are good and if you're not signing you're not doing it right. Signings are more important and exciting to this demo than the games, the results, the financial health of the club, anything really. It's just all about signings. Signings signings signings. The sort of people who talk about Nottingham Forest "winning the transfer window". The sort of accounts who start and/or follow @TheSecretAgent accounts every January, pretending to be ITK, and constantly ask said account if there's any "news", hanging on every word. They'll also be the first accounts @ing Tyler directly calling him every name under the sun when it turns out he's a mentally deficient crock, and demanding another signing to replace him. Happened exactly this way with Austin - all the accounts that were posting the hilarious "nan stays in the cage until Austin signs" memes in June were leathering into him, and his wife, by September. Roberts is fertile ground to this demographic because he's the sort of signing who looks really good on Football Manager, or Fifa. I bet he's got some great numbers on there. What Football Manager and Fifa don't have a is a grading for how much of a cnt you are. This is something we've fallen down on quite dramatically in our recruitment this season.

| Tyler Roberts on 10:23 - Apr 14 by Gloucs_R | So, is there actually any truth in this story of us purchasing him for £500k? 🤔 Does anyone know how much we have to pay for Taylor Richards if we stay up? |
I think this rumoured Roberts signing is either just made up or confused with the Richards signing. Richards was signed on loan this season with an agreement we'd pay £500k for him on a perm this summer. With Roberts, we had an option to pay £4m for his services [pmsl emoji] if we got promoted.

Pretty much what I think has happened because that's how I remembered it too.

| Tyler Roberts on 21:56 - Apr 13 by VancouverHoop | It would. But (and it's a big one in 72 point, bold face caps) he might be in the squad on saturday apparently. If (and we're up to 118 point extra-bold now) he plays well in our final matches, and we survive it's not outside the realms of possibility. |
I've always thought it's a bit easier to look good at the end of the season. Some players don't want to get injured if their contract is running out, some teams players have nothing left to play for so also don't want to get inured, lack motivation, may be trying out youth / fringe players etc. Its only really games at the top and bottom end that have some bite, generally.

I cannot stress how many times I’ve got these two mixed up, let alone their transfer / contractual arrangements which are distorted anyway because people are angry with them both.

| Tyler Roberts on 06:49 - Apr 14 by Paddyhoops | If you’re the parent clubs of our loanees this season ,you’re not going to be impressed. Tim and Laird stared well and then just faded into oblivion. On the evidence of this season none of them are going to cut it at the top level. |
"On the evidence of this season none of them are going to cut it at the top level". They haven't even cut it at Championship level yet!
| "Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1." |
