Without any doubt, Neil Warnock is our absolute best chance at survival this season and I am more than happy with this.

The sensible option if true.

Bare bones.

I'd be happy with this, particularly as it says it's until the end of the season.

Gives us time to get a DoF in and then make a full-time appointment, whether that be Warnock or someone else.

We need to stay up. Warnock is most likely our best bet for that.

No Brian, as much as I agreed with you with this on the last thread you posted it on I can't agree on this one

Never knowingly right.

Well If this Is true then I'll be pleased but with a bit of trepidation, he'll have a hell of a job to get this lot going and the last thing I would want Is for him to fail as well.
I don't want the bloke to go out of football with his last Managerial post being a failure.
I've got a huge amount of respect for NW, I'd like to keep It that way, basically this just might be a bridge too far for him?

Yes, but he's in a win win situation. The only way is up....unless we go down.

Warnock likes to have a bit of a mix up top with striker options.

We don’t have many of those atm

Personally I fear for his wellbeing

captains fantastic

Sky sports news saying we are offering it to Warnock. But it's not certain he will take it on.

Can't help feeling negative that it will be another qpr hero returning to end up with a blot on his legend status !!!

Three in one season would be impressive.

He is our best hope of survival and I'm convinced that he will save us. At least for this season. He likes to hit the ground running 🏃‍♂️ so I expect at least a point at Rotherham. Oh and sorry, I meant to say " Mature Cheddar"😀

Thing is no one in our front office knows anything about playing football. They haven't since day one. What they do know is that Warnock has done the job for us (and others) before, so that makes him number one in a field of one

Bullshit, Mr Han Man. Warnock is the perfect choice. If he can't get these players going then they're fked and that's the legacy of the previous managers.

All this never go back stuff is nonsense. The guy literally did this exact job with an equally crap Huddersfield team *last season*. He’s easily the best chance we have and if he fails we’re not tied into a 3 year deal for another manager (again), we’ll be paying NC and GA for years now.

This board rarely make sensible decisions but this is a no brainier

Neil Warnock wants to make a return to Queens Park Rangers and is expected to replace Gareth Ainsworth.

Former Luton Town and Southampton manager Nathan Jones is also keen on the QPR job but it is understood that Warnock is likely to be appointed until the end of the season. An announcement is expected in the next few days.

Despite being 74, Warnock made it clear when he left Huddersfield Town that he wanted to continue in management and carry on with a career that started in 1980 with Gainsborough Trinity.

If he is appointed it will be Warnock’s third spell in charge of QPR having taken them into the Premier League, for the first time in 15 years, in 2011 only to be sacked the following January after a change of ownership and with the team struggling.

Warnock then returned to QPR as caretaker manager in Nov 2015, after being dismissed by Crystal Palace and before Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was appointed. He then returned to be manager of Rotherham United.

Warnock oversaw Huddersfield’s impressive escape from relegation from the Championship last season, his second spell at the club, before signing a new one-year deal but left in September and was replaced by Darren Moore.

When he left Warnock, who has previously retired, suggested he want to carry on with another club. Now it appears that opportunity has come.

Ainsworth was dismissed after a sixth straight defeat left QPR 23rd in the Championship, six points from safety, with the decision appearing inevitable for some time.

Other candidates such as former Birmingham City manager John Eustace have been ruled out with Warnock the choice.

Ainsworth, the former QPR winger was only appointed in February after 11 years at Wycombe Wanderers and won only five of his 28 games. He saw his side beaten 2-1 at home by Leicester City on Saturday. His assistant, Richard Dobson, has also departed.

Lee Hoos, QPR’s chief executive, said: “Making a call such as this is never easy, and it is even more difficult when you have such respect on both a personal and professional level for the individuals concerned – which we all do for Gareth and Richard.

“Many supporters have told me in recent months that they have never wanted someone to succeed more than Gareth, which is an indication of the fondness everyone associated with QPR has for him. Unfortunately, results this season haven’t gone the way we all wanted and we feel a change is necessary.

“We understand the importance of appointing a new head coach quickly and an announcement on this will follow in the coming days.”

I’d take Warnock back all day long

We are in the sh!t and we need a proven manager who can get a tune out of a rabble

He has done this in recent seasons at Rotherham and Huddersfield

Is it long term strategy no of course it isn’t but this might be an appointment that allows us to have some time to work that out so come the summer which ever division we are in we can then start to plan accordingly

Come on Sharon let him of the leash, muck and nettles and all that, he’s under you feet replying to the emails.

You know it makes sense
