Eurovision nul or douze points 21:05 - May 7 with 8845 viewsChrisNW6

You going to be avoiding at all costs or embracing a night of euro bonkers TV. My girls love it, probably down to me getting the sweepstake and scorecards going from a young age 😁

The scoring has gone to another level and far to confusing, not to mention political.

Anyone else tuning in on Saturday night, I seem to remember we get a small bit of interest on here.

For the bettors, Italy won Eurojury which is always a great bellweather of a top 5 performance or indeed the winner, but also are a televote monster:

Their televote performance since it's been split out:

3/18/6/3/3/1/8/6

If they get a good spot, they're a brilliant each way bet if their current price holds

It might also help they have someone who can actually sing personally think if this year the novelty sing is a winner then either Croatia or Netherlands an actual ballad then France but Switzerland will there or there abouts. It does show there are some cracking looking women from Eastern Europe. There will be and always will be regional voting as well the public are allowed to vote and and people tend to migrate to near neighbours for work.
Would say maybe another reason the Big 5 don't do well is they all actually have a music scene that exists the other 12 months of the year whereas for Moldova Czechia their charts will be dominated by overseas artists and hence this is a Big Deal for them. Put it this way don't expect to see Adele or Ed Sheeran representing the UK any time soon

Used to enjoy it years ago when it was a bit of fun. Me and Mrs Juzzie would watch it (she loved it, way more than me, but no more) from beginning to end and it was great.

Now you have countries that aren't in Europe then you had the whole "vote for our neighbours", then it started becoming political and virtue signalling and so on. Just want to have a break form all that, there's enough of it as it is.

I have no problem with anyone who enjoys it, fair play to that and have a good time. Just not for me anymore.

Hadn't seen that before. I mentioned earlier that I think the winner will come from the 2nd semi and it's intersting to see six of the top seven in that vote haven't performed yet.

For any undecided's, here's the running order for the 2nd semi and watch out for the LFW select 6 a-side team representing Estonia (not a bad tune either).

Lots of hot tottie for the pervs if nothing else.

A fair point, just as it was to boycott the World Cup in Qatar. Come for the football/music or stay away for the politics/murderous regime's. We all have a choice.

Edit. This was in response to a post by Esox that has since been deleted. In case anyone is wondering wtf I am talking about.

I suppose there will be those who think pop music is more important than 40k+ people murdered over the last 6 months. I also felt the same way about Qatar and never watched a minute.

If you didn't watch a minute of the world cup then well done for standing by your principles. Most of us were aware of the atrocities committed by the Qatari government but chose to watch the football anyway because we like football and it wasn't our fault that FIFA chose to host it there.

I could point fingers at every multi national company on the planet and have a long list of reasons why you should never buy anything from them but if I did that, I'd be left with about five local companies to supply all my worldly needs.

I said you made a fair point but to then suggest that anyone who thinks pop music is more important than 40k+ people murdered over the last 6 months is extremely disingenuous. That's not like you Esox, I like Eurovision and I choose to ignore who the sponsors are and the multi-billionaires behind it because there are scumbag multi-billionaires behind everything and there's nothing I can do about that (that is going to make any difference).

Like I said we all have a choice and I applaud you for making your stand but, like vegans who scream 'murderer!" at anyone eating a hamburger, we aren't really the problem.

Haven’t you been on here long enough to know that nobody wants to read opinions like you posted earlier on this forum. I see your original post has now been rightly deleted.

Avoid this thread if it upsets you.

No, dead women and children murdered by the IDF upset me. You keep your head in the sand.

How about you keep your opinions on this particular subject to yourself before you get banned.

Neither of us are homophones but Olly Alexander's show was cringeworthy. More like gay pyrography than a singing competition.
It was one of the most embarrassing spectacles I've seen for Years and Years.

Ironic that they were in a rotating public toilet. Imagine being gay and making your whole personality about that.

I think I'm grouting the bathroom that night. And if I'm not, then I am now.

Utter crap, which I thought Brexit meant we no longer had to participate in. They 'kin lied to us!!

Last time I checked my map, we’re still in Europe!

I just wonder why anyone would keep footing the bill for this?

UK Govt still picks up a lot of the cost for some inexplicable reason (I thought we voted to sack all this pan-European stuff off) - The BBC is balls deep on it (Figuratively of course, No libel from me Clive) which explains the high popularity amongst the NPC crowd.

"How many free school meals could the Government subsidize by withdrawing the Song Contest funding?" Is the type of thing I would expect the socialist/progressive types to be saying. Not "Oooooh I looove Lithuania's entry this year, think they're in with a great chance of top 5"

All a bit weird if you ask me

As a bill footer you automatically qualify. Same with Italy and France and maybe Germany.

Oh Sheffield, you know the cost of everything, and the value of nothing 😆
Tried to google how much the bill is, but my minute of research didn't get me very far. Apparently we spent £30m hosting it, which is a htf? moment.
But...we spend money on a lot of things, and it brings people enjoyment, so 'shrugs shoulders'.
Can't stand it myself, but it has upset Esox, so....

Looking forward to the second semi final tonight: most of the favourites are in it.
Can’t see a winner from the first semi final. I’ve read that the song that should’ve won last year Cha Cha Cha is being performed at some stage tonight as well: Eurovision classic.

1
Eurovision nul or douze points on 11:44 - May 9 with 894 viewsGaryT

Croatia now favourite after the first semi-final but like cha cha cha, it's likely to score badly with the judges. Switzerland should tick both the public and judges boxes so is still the favourite for me but I would prefer Italy to win but she's usually hanging around 5th favourite.
