Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc?

For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te?

Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull.

Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

Coming back to an old topic but it truly is mental that Burnley who came down with a squad full of young kids from the continent, appointed Mr Brexit, Scott Parker, allowed him to spend a fortune Brexiting up the squad with ‘good honest professionals’ from Blighty and then have a squad that should be 15/20 points clear by now not even in the automatic places..

Sarmiento, Koleosho, Foster, Benson would be the best players in any other squad in the division and they don’t get a look in behind ‘salt of the earth’ like Ashley Barnes, Jaidon Anthony, Marcus Edwards…

Well you get what you pay for with Parker - effective but dull football, but this time not even good enough for an automatic promotion place.

A carbon copy of his season with Bournemouth in the Championship a few seasons ago. That team should have pissed automatic promotion with the players he had but only just made it with a game to spare.

If he doesn't get them automatic promotion he'll probably win the play offs and then come the end of August this year when Burnley are rock bottom of the PL, he'll chuck his toys out of the pram just like he did at Bournemouth saying the players aren't good enough.

Just had a chance to look at the league after this weeks midweek games. God knows how we kept our 14th place

BUT

I think now, the relegation battle is from 14th downwards and we just need to grind 6 more points to join the 'safe bunch'

Who would have thought that a month ago thats what we would be discussing - Very grim

Well, this month was always going to be difficult. We forecast that miles out. We've played 16 times against the top ten and won once - ninth placed Blackburn at home.
We've lost all the games by one goal, which was largely to be expected.

The time to be worried/angry is if we go back into the Stoke, Bristol City, Cardiff, Oxford, Swansea, Preston run of games and we're phoning in sht defeats in those.

There's a Twitter account called LogicalClaret who is an absolutely brilliant way to pass time as he patronisingly explains to all the Burnley fans how this is all completely untrue and Scott Parker is actually a genius who is far outperforming his brief.

A masterclass in passing out from the back makes it 2-0 to Bristol City early on. Get it launched.

Nakhi Wells is still a top quality Championship striker: damn shame we couldn’t sign him back in the day.

I don't think that it is any coincidence that they've started scoring more goals since Marcus Edwards arrived! He is far too good to be playing in The Championship, or for a bottom half premier team either.

I'm surprised that he's never been considered for the full England squad.

A very good win for Sheffield United today.

It will probably go down to the last match as to which two clubs gain automatic promotion.

I think Wilder has a bet with himself as to how badly they can play and grind wins out.

Have Plymouth gone, after yesterday's defeat?
If we beat EITHER Stoke OR Cardiff, aren't they certain to finish below us?

Looking dodgy for Plymouth but I think any of the bottom 3 including Plymouth could get out of it. All of the teams up to 15th are in it including us but hopefully couple of wins we should be safe. Think Cardiff and Stoke could go down. Derby if they keep current form up could escape. Still mad how Luton have dropped like a stone and they really need complete upturn to get out of the mess. From a personal point of view would like to see Stoke Cardiff and Derby to drop.

Truly hilarious that they might cock up promotion yet again, just because they couldn't recruit a competent goalkeeper.

Agree. Had them as definitely one of the three to drop after they'd played us. This will be four wins on the spin.

I wonder if he is going to be one of those managers who spends his career perpetually taking teams up the Championship table but never quite winning the game of snakes and ladders.

Fair play to him again, I thought they were dead after they played us.

That’s another Championship basket case he’s gone into and quickly got the team together and getting results. 4 times if you include our circus.

It’s almost as if genuine “man-managers” who can organise and inspire a group of limited idiots are comparatively good at this level.

Paint me shocked.
