Chris Willock 08:04 - Apr 3 with 4990 viewsthehat

Is he injured for Saturday - Wasn't selected or on the bench for their last game.

Hope so otherwise it's written in the stars who will get the winner.

He'll be coming off the bench on Saturday in the last ten minutes to score a stunning perfect hat trick, winning the game 3-2 for the mighty Bluebirds and triggering a twenty year descent through the leagues for the hapless Hoops.

Hopefully he will pick up an injury travelling from Cardiff.

He has been awful all season and when fit. only makes the bench....

Yes, we all know what will happen, although if he is given a rough reception from the crowd, I think he is the type that wont play well as a result of that !!!

Hope he plays as he’s sh1t: one of the last players you need in a relegation fight.
See Tyler Roberts is tearing it up at Northampton as well with one goal all season.

He's been deeply average for Cardiff all season

2 goals and 1 assist all season for £15k a week. In hindsight thank goodness he didn't sign that contract!

He may very well score on Saturday, but I certainly don't think we miss him

How much pressing and tracking back does Smyth do though?

A big improvement on he with the hamstrings made out of Leerdammer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but no ex R has scored against us in the league this season.

Opinions, but I'd say he isn't. Willock last year on one leg scored 4 goals and 4 assists in the same number of games that Smyth has played to date this season. We conceded 58 goals last season in the league, we're on course to concede many more than that in this one. So much for effective pressing and tracking back too.

...bit like we've only finished 16th once in our last 10 Championship seasons, much as the glossary would have you think differently...

Fair.

Low on the dependability ratings though.

Other than Armstrong, Dickie, and Dieng, have we got many ex Rs in the league?

Tyler Roberts broke his duck for the season at Orient last month:

It's his only league goal since the two he got for us at at Reading in January 2023.

Charlie Kelman scored in the same game.

Jordan Archer, Isaac Hayden and Andre the Friendly Ghost at Pompey.

Jeff Hendrick and Conor Washington at Derby.

One league goal between the five of them - Dozzell v Oxford.

Way more injuries all over the squad than last season, though.

Well, it is true that our average position since relegation is 15.1. So we're actually performing ahead of perception.

To bring our average position to exactly 16th we'll need to finish...24th. Gulp.
