Farcical and a very interesting precedent to set. If someone who hasn't been sent off before is during the World Cup will they also just get a 1 game ban effectively?
Being naive, I didn't think it possible that the Swiss could produce an even bigger cun t than Blatter to run FIFA or that I could hate FIFA any more than I did at the time of Chuck Blazer et al. Infantino really is the biggest cun t in football. And I include John Terry in that.

I think they’re both neck and neck for the biggest.

A Fifa statement said: "If Cristiano Ronaldo commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the number of adoring blowjobs he receives from Gianni Infantino may be reduced"

The thing is, that right now this seems like a victimless swindle. Just another in the long line of them perpetrated by FIFA. Some will chuckle. Some will shrug. Some will squirm and say Portugal are no longer as good with him in the team. Some will even seek to justify it.
The groups aren't drawn yet. We don't know which two countries will have to face Cristiano Ronaldo next June. When they shouldn't be. Maybe Cape Verde lose on their debut to another soft penalty for the great man. Maybe Curacao have their World Cup ended.
But none of that matters, does it? None of that is taken into account. And all of that is just discussion of the severity of the symptoms. There can be no debate about the disease.

Sobering take Brian. Makes you wonder what will happen if any of the 16 countries in the playoffs end up going through with a player suspended.
Scales and Festy get a hall pass for the semi though, right? Right?

Think we are all looking at this in the wrong angle
Certainly not Infantino fault, he is just a lowly official trying to make the best of a bad situation
And certainly not Rono's fault, it was an h-armless (pun intended) coming together in a contact sport
It wasn't even Glenn Nyberg's fault... who did his level best to only issue a yellow... in the hope it would somehow show that Rono was not above the laws of the game
It was that dastardly VAR that is to blame ...Boekel obviously never got the email about upsetting Infantino's legacy...
I gather Boekel is officiating in the Albanian 7th tier now as reward for his bravery
I'm praying to all the gods that either of the first 2 teams that draw Portugal lodge a protest about this and threaten legal action or b as note previously, other teams lodge appeals against suspend players

Apparently Portugal's first two opponents have been suspended and will be pre-emptively deported.
