The Barry Bannan Master Class Match Thread 08:50 - Jan 3 with 33021 viewsnumptydumpty

I will front up for this one, as feel this is a must win game. Finally, I hope this is one game too far for Mr Bannan against ourselves.

But bloomin 'eck, a midday kick off.

And for the Sheffield fans to get there. One of these days, we will all have to get to the ground immediately after our full english breakfast. Its hard to get into a game so early in the day and think actually it generally shows similar for all players also.

Despite that, I do believe we will win comfortably, three nil, perhaps. But if its a loss, the natives will certainly be getting restless and a happy new year, it won't be.

So for me, a three nil win - Burrell with two and Cook with the other !!!

Don't want to consider any other possible outcomes !!

C'mon you Rrr's....

Wednesday growing n confidence. Even had a shot on target.

I can't look, they have a corner. OK, I lie, I did look. Cleared, then a Wednesday shot curves wide.

Look, Wednesday might be poor, but if we don't get our act together, they will get back into it. Our closing down and press is half hearted at the moment.

Dembele played in by Kone, he had to hit that first time.

I've got an idea, instead of assuming Julien is an idiot. How about maybe Poku was complaining about a little twinge and our manager didn't want to risk another injury, so that is the reason for the change. But I guess it's easier to kick Julien in the gonads.

Protecting the players for the upcoming cup game against West Ham, our biggest game of the year (albeit still a very young year)?

Dembele has no right foot and he plays right wing….

Why does it look like we're just about hanging on against Sheff Wednesday?

A lot of wayward passes. Kolli and Dembele cannot seem to seem to pass the ball to a hooped shirt.

Man alive, they are knocking on the door. We are playing ourselves into trouble. Yikes!

Dear me Dembele.. simple ball down the line / poor touch in the box loses chance to shoot - come on son.

Game scrappy but end-end, we need to take advantage and not concede.

I’m getting more and more frustrated and annoyed as time goes on here…. We are just ceding control and momentum

I like kolli and I want to see him do well - but strolling around pointing jockeying and constantly being a few yards off being able to stick a foot in is very annoying. He must have been watching Burrell has been doing and certainly has the attributes to do the same thing. But doesn’t seem to look too interested in doing it.

I suppose it’s cold and we are one nil up for now….

8/1 on a draw at Skybet. Are they not watching?

Looks like Smyth may be warming up. Thank goodness, his energy might enliven us. Might...

Our corner, Madsen delivers but their keeper claims it. Sigh.

Should have come on at HT instead of Dembele.
We’re hanging on now FFS.

Not sure if it is the 4 games in 10 days... or that it a ridiculous 12am start... or we are playing the leagues whipping boys... it may even be the bloody cold... but there is a distinct lack of enthusiasm from us here. I don't think there has been a less enthused reaction to us scoring ...... .. ever

2, what looks like hammy injuries and a real blow that Burrell could be out for a few months. And as I'm writing this Varane as well... when are we in this country going to stop this Christmas stupidity of playing so many games!!!

The 2nd half will most likely degenerate into a non event now.

Think really the game in a non event... just want to now get out of it with at least some of the team still intact... absolutely crazy

So positive.. we are winning... Poku looks lively... and Madsen is dominant... so let us get him off at HT

Apart from that... pretty mheh

The 12 o'clock kick off's are a really bad idea but that will be Sky won't it?

Had a quick look through the other fixtures that kicked off early and can see only one other first half substitution. We lost three players which is crazy, two hamstrings by the look of it so once again you have to look in the direction of Ben Williams and his team.

We won’t be playing at HQ next season if this pitch cannot be cured.

God forbid we get promoted, as I cannot see a single game getting played if we do.
