I think I saw on the news, he was getting online abuse like Smythy.
What's wrong with people.

He was getting some stick at the tournament too. People like the underdog but when they become the main man, some people hate people doing well. Absolute machine, and he can play at an incredible level longer than others

I read in my rag today that Gen Z are beginning to move away from SM, so may be some hope.
I suppose I'm Gen A.

The other top players need to raise their games or Littler is going to win pretty much everything for the next few decades. The final was a bit dull as it was so one sided.

The guy is a genius as far as darts goes.

Was thinking Taylor won around 18 world titles and played till he was around mid 50s. At this rate, Littler could play 35 more times minimum and could win most years. Maybe life will get in the way and he will get married, have kids and get a full time job.

Only joking !!!

Pretty decent being a multi millionaire by the age of 18 and for playing darts too. He is a big boy though and cant say my appearance or any of my mates at his age, we all still looked like young boys...

Well played Luke the Nuke

Crikey - I don't have any interest in darts, never did. Hadn't heard of Littler or seen his pic until two mins ago. Keep going like this, they'll make him the Duke of Earl.

He could but don’t think he will. The level is too good now and there’ll be great kids coming through like these two. Wasn’t that long ago MvG seemed unstoppable and at 36 should be at his peak but isn’t. Humphries is excellent, van Veen of course, players averaging 100 aren’t exceptional, 50% doubles etc.

Still like to know Wayne Rooney's whereabouts 19 years and nine months ago!

Not a darts fan, but saw something about him on TV and he came over really well. Hope he rises above the abuse and enjoys his darts for as long as he wants. He's 19 FFS, what the hell is wrong with some folks!! I also hope he has and continues to have good people around him.

Good luck to him.

There are an increasing amount of parallels between darts and football - Sky being the broadcast partner since the PDC started, prize money increasing exponentially, younger players getting corporate endorsement on the rise and multi-year sponsorship deals. All sports evolve and darts was never going to stay in smoky pubs and working men's clubs so maybe this was inevitable and fair play to those making a bit of coin while they can.

On the one hand, I think PP as a sponsor do good stuff like raising awareness of and donating to prostate cancer causes but on the other, their marketing is just a bit too...cute?... and the whole tournament experience with chants, "spontaneous" poznans / Mexican waves and boxing-style announcers leaves me a bit cold. That fùcking Ballon d'Art can get right in the sea too. Maybe I'm just an auld man shaking his fist at the clouds.

Agree with what's being said about Littler at the moment on last night's performance - he was utterly metronomic. "180? Yeah mate, here's a 147 finish." Anyone challenging will need to play possibly their best darts and hope Littler has an off day.

Agree that the other players need to raise their game , more mentally than the numbers . Van Veen averaged 101 or something which wins most matches .
He was just ground down by Littlers power scoring and in the end he starts to lose hope .

The semi final Van Veen v Anderson was one of the best I’ve ever seen .

I love watching Littler play darts. Obviously he is incredibly talented, but having watched him a lot throughout the year, the thing that sets him apart is that on the occasions he is being challenged, not hitting the trebles in a leg, that is exactly when he produces some astonishing huge checkout. It's like he can just turn it on when he really needs it. Frighteningly, in this tournament he has barely been pushed!

Good luck to him, hope he keeps level headed and winning for many years.

Semi-serious questions.
Does he know how he does it so reliably?
If so, is it something he could bring to coaching in another sport?
Could he coach strikers?
