| Richard Kone 21:24 - Mar 8 with 2435 views | 1JD | Getting a free ride this season. Hold up play is sometimes good, but mostly sh1t. Slow as a slug. Half arsed jumps for headers. A rather measly 7 goals in 34 games (1 goal every 4.8 games). Charlie Kelman 5 goals in 26 (1 goal in 5.2 games). No better than Dykes. Who himself was piss poor, but still scored 12 in his first season. | | | | |
| Richard Kone on 09:23 - Mar 9 with 539 views | WadR | Excellent layoff for Hayden in the second half at 1-0, that Hayden dallied over and wasted. A really good first time layoff in the first half that was then squandered by a teammate. I can sometimes be a bit frustrated by his pressing but Boro were playing 3 at the back and then had 2 excellent central midfielders ahead of them and loads of constant movement around them. Pretty thankless task as a lone striker to do the doggy work. He has flaws in his game but in terms of quality or effort, I think he's one of the last players I'd be calling out from that stating line up yesterday. | | | |
| Richard Kone on 09:27 - Mar 9 with 532 views | daveB | He was poor yesterday but he's not exactly got much to work with at the moment | | | |
| Richard Kone on 09:38 - Mar 9 with 485 views | BAWHoops | He's 22, first season at this level and on 7 goals. He's not the issue and will likely win Young Player of the Season | |

| Richard Kone on 06:37 - Mar 9 by Malintabuk | I try not to post on here after a game like yesterday... its a wonder I post at all as all our games are like yesterday... In 13 days I have shipped the best part of 600 sovs watching this shower of sh!te...and possibly a day and a half of travelling and actually watching, and at my age that is serious time wasted... and it was wasted I said on another thread that of all the injuries we have Madsen is going to affect us the most and since then in 3 games (counting Southampton) we have shipped 10 goals and not scored one. I was expecting the usual backlash... but I could not believe this thread... someone giving Kone a tug... To the OP have you been to any of these games last 3 games, or any before ? We are in serious danger of ruining this boys career!! And I'm not exaggerating in that... we are flogging him to death I was watching him Saturday and I'm genuinely worried for him... he runs and puts himself about, as said on here without Madsen our attacking plan is lump it up and off you go Richard... and that is it.... he as no service, no support .... nothing, but the lad still tries and still puts himself about... I have honestly come to the stage where I don't want to go anymore.. Birmingham/ Leicester absolutely no chance ... If you honestly think the answer is Kone is no good, you are not asking the right question sorry |
Great post I am absolutely baffled how anybody could possibly pick Kone out after yesterdays performance, he worked his socks off and put in a great shift again bearing in mind how little of the ball we had and the poor service he was given time and again, he was our MOM from a poor display. We said walking to the game is this the game where Kone gets his injury like all the rest, there's been no sensible squad rotation this season, a few months ago we had a fit squad and could of rested players but that option was not chosen, were now in a position where Kone has to start to give us any chance in a match, the injury to Madsen and the stupidity of sending Field out on loan has left us clutching at straws. PS ....The other main point about yesterday's game was the fitness of Boros team compared to ours, it was on another level, maybe if we sort that out we will start to compete better. If Kone keeps starting (since we have no other options) it does feel like he'll get injured this week, just to put the tin lid on everything.

Give Kolli the first hour on Wednesday. Not that he’s been any good recently but he’s fresh and presumably fit. Feels a ticking time bomb à la Burrell.
| Richard Kone on 10:25 - Mar 9 with 359 views | Rangersw12 | Kone is being run into the ground because once again we have no other fit forwards Kone wasn't great yesterday but he isn't the issue nor has been an issue all season | | | |

I think supporters deserve to know the actual reason why the player who was obviously brought in to take the load off Kone has mysteriously disappeared into another dimension having supposedly been injured shortly after he arrived. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Richard Kone on 10:57 - Mar 9 with 273 views | numptydumpty | Some threads truly are out of touch with reality. I may have started one or two myself over the years. But Kone, the guy is a workhorse, practically been our only near ever present and has been our only centre forward since the loss of Burrell. The last home game, his touch and control was great and he had a brilliant game, I felt. He doesnt hide like a lot of our recent strikers have done and his finishing at times is excellent. Ok. At times, the ball doesn't stick. If it did all the time, he would not be with ourselves. And dont know what level of football 1JD, you have ever played, but the guy is only 22 still, and two seasons ago, he was playing non league level eight, so the standard of football, he has progressed up the chain in such a short period of time is admirable, and he has not looked out of place at this level. The guy was homeless in a backward third world country and has worked his b*tt off to achieve his dream. He has hunger and desire to do well and is learning all the time, and for me is one of the few players, we have here, who could improve further and be a very important player for the next couple of seasons hopefully. Along with Madsen and Burrell, he is one of our success stories this season. And one of the few here, that we could potentially make a decent profit on also. 1JD, you picked up on his one weakness, which at times, sometimes he does not have also. He is available every week - am expecting him to be the next one on the treatment table myself - but currently he is battling through and our only reliable outlet at top. None of our so called creative players are providing any chances for him currently also. Op, if you think Kone is the problem currently, you are living in some alternate universe, that you are living on alone !!!!!!! | |
