Well they haven Warren who turns 20 in November.
I'd rather this than watching Walsh for an entire season again. And I'd rather they take their time and invest money sensibly than rush it so that they can have keepers in training games.
Also given Walsh has left and nobody has told us there's surely an equal likelihood that the replacement is lined up or even in the building but they haven't told us yet. |

Look, I wasn’t trying to be overly negative. But I’m also keen we don’t normalise this nonsense. Last season’s number 1 has apparently left and gone to Wigan, been pictured on a fun run with their squad, and the club haven’t thought to tell the fanbase. That isn’t normal. If this had happened under Les, or Beard, or Briatore, or whoever, I would be making the same point.
We’ve normalised and accepted not being given injury updates more than 4 times a season. We’ve normalised and accepted not being told who’ll be available over the weekend. We’ve normalised and accepted having a fans forum without the head coach present. We’ve normalised and accepted the league required Supporters’ Advisory Board minutes being published months late, with most of it redacted because it’s confidential. We’ve normalised and accepted our CEO and DOF having a couple of behind closed door forums with fan representatives (and anyone else he wants present) but with strict instructions for half the discussion not to be communicated. We’ve normalised and accepted sacking very popular and successful coaches weeks before any fans were informed with no reason given for their sacking. We’ve normalised and accepted sacking a popular Head Coach parring the course because his agent spoke to another club…just like he did when we enquired about him at Hammerby (and every agent does every month in football). We’ve normalised and accepted season chunky ticket rises justified with flimsy justifications, in spite of Clive very easily exposing those justifications. We’ve normalised and accepted appointing a CEO who made himself DOF too with under two years’ experience in back office football. We’ve normalised and accepted what is widely known to be some appalling behaviour from senior leaders towards a highly touted young prospect.
I’m sorry, Stainrod. I know you’re reasonable. And I know in isolation none of those are big fry. They can all happen in football. But they add up. And I’m not normalising the club not even informing fans of who does and doesn’t play for us anymore. Some gentle ribbing on a fans’ forum seems reasonable to me. I want Nourry to succeed and I want the club to succeed, but that doesn’t mean dropping criticism. If the club does stuff that seems shady or I don’t believe is good for the club and the fans, I’ll call it out or shine a light on it. Solution: run the club better.

There's certainly been some welcome activity in moving on players who needed to move on, but he's had the benefit of the Eze windfall, we still have significant gaps in key positions and some of the recent acquisitions haven't made the desired impact (notably Saito, Dembele and Varane). Getting in two decent strikers is certainly a plus, but overall I think it's too early to make a call. We'll know a lot more by the end of the year. |  |

I mean Hunter, you have just gone on a huge diatribe there about why you hate the regime. Fine. Your right to do so etc. But to bring it back to the subject we were actually discussing, (our under-performing goalkeeper potentially leaving) you didn’t even address my point that no club provides a running commentary on transfer negotiations. As for the suggestion that this is somehow connected to an evil plot to divide the fan base, well, we all have opinions etc.
Reported elsewhere we are pursuing Venezuela’s international goalkeeper.
It doesn’t sound like some hugely sinister and complex conspiracy to me.
Most likely QPR agreed the loan of Walsh (which btw you and other critics don’t seem to oppose in itself, so instead you all fixate on the process).
Wigan were told not to announce the fact until we tied up a deal for his replacement.
But in the social media age it leaks out. It happens.
The announcement remains held up until his replacement is secured - precisely because if they formally announce news of Walsh’s departure first there will be even more of a negative clamour than we have seen on here.
If fans are really so upset that we are temporarily a position or two down in close season, maybe for their well being they should go off social media over the summer and come back when it’s hopefully all sorted.
If the position is not sorted a week or two out from the opening game I will be as annoyed as you.

Gonna add to the list: announcing record-breaking season ticket sales, but not disclosing how many that is other than "surpassing last season, which were the most in a decade". Had a little laugh to myself at that control-freak, self-aggrandisement nonsense last week. West Ham announced their actual numbers the same week. Just say the number. We know the capacity of the ground.
However, there are probably all kinds of reasons for not announcing Joe Walsh joining Wigan. Wigan have not announced it.
