I wasn't advocating feeble acceptance of a defeat in London Derby. But this thread includes posters wanting us to get rid of almost every player who started yesterday + the manager, the CEO, and many of the backroom staff. Cook and Kone seem to be the exceptions.

I think most people have been consistent on those views before yesterday .
Not 1 person has suggested ALL of that .
I’ve been fairly critical of Mbengue for example on and off since about September. Every game some people have been highly critical of Walsh, win lose or draw. Others have said we could do better next season than RND.
None of it is overboard . It’s fans being critical of a team who didn’t compete yesterday .
Who didn’t fancy the fight one bit.
That is normal throughout football and since the first ball is kicked.
For me, your post adds to Clive’s argument.
Just because some fans are rightly annoyed today / yesterday , the fans who don’t want to read it / hear it, actually make more of it than it is .
It come across as dismissive in my opinion .
Once again , many will disagree but that’s how I see it .
And for me those fans add to the notion that some are fairly comfortable with mediocrity. |  | | |

I don't go home and away (season ticket holder in the lower loft). Sometimes I envy those who go to more or less every game but generally I'm glad to have a break from it every other week. Too much of anything is usually not very good for you. I'm sure I would have been fuming if I'd gone to the game and seen us totally melt in the first 15 minutes. As it was, I had a nice day, played a bit of 8 a side and drove out to a lovely sunny Box Hill.
I'm probably one of those with low standards/expectations. I don't go to games expecting us to win every week. I'm fairly accepting of being a mid table championship team. It's generally a pretty entertaining league to be part of. Every now and then, when I feel like giving up we put together a few results and I'm drawn back in. If I'd invested as much time and money into QPR as some have then I think I'd generally be more pissed off but at this time of the season when there's nothing to play for I can't bring myself to get too worked up. I was bloody furious when we tossed away the Blackburn game as we had a genuine chance of playing offs then. I'd be happy in the last two home games to see a few minutes for Chair and maybe a goal for Burrell |  | | |

The bit that I really don't like about this, which basically started with the fans forum in August (you have a chance to really help these players etc etc), continued recently with that Lee Hoos interview, is now being pushed aggressively by a few Twitter accounts, and I'm starting to see creep in a bit on here is this "you can choose what sort of fan you want to be".
Our football club is now in the total control of two very inexperienced guys in Nourry and Williams, they're doing whatever they want with it, and you're not allowed to question or criticise that or them - you can just choose whether you want to go along with it or not. But a football club is not some lad's PHD project, it's about the fans, and for the fans.
Fans are perfectly entitled to be unhappy with that yesterday. It's a London derby, a big away following, and we folded before we'd even begun. That's not good enough and people are allowed to be upset about that.
You're allowed to have a go at them if they lose 5-0 to Southampton. You're entitled to expect better than a 4-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough. If you want to rant and rave, or say nasty things on a message board, about that first half at Birmingham, that is entirely your prerogative. Football fans have been doing that since football was invented.
We want our team and our club to be better. We want it to succeed. And we're tired of being told tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. It's always another building year, always another three year plan.
Increasingly I'm seeing and hearing this quiet, subconscious line being drawn between "good supporters" and "bad supporters". It's bolox. If you're able to stand and clap the little loves off after a 5-0 defeat that's up to you, but those of us who get angry about that are absolutely entitled to feel that way. |
