Picked a number of wrong players for this match and really missed Jimmy Dunne: Cook and Hayden should’ve been starters. This was compounded by the likes of Mbengue, Smyth and Vale having their worse games for ages. Poku the only minor positive of that wretched first half but great to see Burrell, Chair and Madsen in the second half: these guys need to start for the rest of the season. Really need to replace Varane and Walsh in the summer: both just not up to it at this level.

Yes agreed. On first reading I thought the picking out of Walsh was a bit harsh on today, but he isn’t good enough overall in consideration . I still think that they will persevere until the end of the transfer window in August and see how he is doing at the start of next season. Seems to me that they have placed all their eggs in the Walsh basket. I could be wrong

Add Mbengue to the list. I don’t like to criticise our players normally, but completely out of his depth today.

He has a lot of fans on this board and in general and I think his recovery pace is something we needed for a long time . But for me he carries on like a bit of a lunatic . Today, and not for the first time, he threw himself to the floor expecting a free kick , sat there with his arms outstretched whilst Millwall proceeded to play round him and score their first goal . The game was 2 minutes old . That’s happened a fair bit this season, amongst other nonsense carrying on and it can’t continue. If he won’t defend properly then really he’s just a bit of a liability.
There has been games where he has defended very well and looked a very good signing. But he’s unpredictable and at times unreliable. Decent defensive cover for next season for me . But not much more, unless the coaching staff get hold of him in the summer and make big changes.

What about the owners? Who is responsible for how crap we are? Is it Ruben, Lee Hoos, Christian, Ben Williams, Andy Belk, Julian, The players or us the fans? I am unsure but at 3am in Australia most likely to blame the owner, Christian and especially Ben Williams - the cycling guy.

How else are we going to fund a new LB, a new RB and a couple of CM? If we’re offered an eight figure sum for him which is possible, I’d be amazed if we turned it down.
New keeper, RB, LB, CM x2...and I don't understand how an experienced head coach can spend eight months picking teams to play in the Championship and turn up to Millwall away with that midfield and that set-up. It's worrying. I like a lot about Stephan but I'm not sure I like how he sets up and prepares his team. Which seems fundamental. Bet he doesn't make a full second season.

To be honest not much bothered by this performance, Millwall are a better team pushing for promotion, we are still lightweight and have done enough this season. We know the weaknesses, whether they will be addressed that is the question. Been impressed with Millwall for a few seasons now, they are passing us and we need to look closely as to why. First question they have an experienced manager at this level and they are backing him. Millwall may not go up, but they will be mighty close.

The whole wide world would be amazed if anyone offered ten million Pounds for Kolli: we’d not get a third of that at the moment as he’s way off the finished article. If we got £10m for Kolli, Varane and Celar combined it would be a result.

For every good game Varane has you’ll get one like that monstrosity and a couple more not loads better. He was atrocious. I’d like to think he’s embarrassed by his contribution to the second goal but he probably still thinks a half decent French team will be in for him in the summer.
He’s 24 so he’s not really a young player making mistakes or finding consistency. Two seasons now and not really improved overall. We can’t have him as first choice next season.
Plenty of other terrible performances and Mbengue looked very lucky to only get the yellow from my vantage point but Varane, bloody hell, have some pride man.

Steve Gallen coached at all levels at QPR for nearly 20 years before leaving in 2016. I wish he'd come back as DoF.
