Reference passing tickets to others outside the age group there is a system where you can pay for an upgrade . Ie my son may use my oap ticjet 6 times a season by payimg the difference in pricing before game day. So the option exists.
Saw 'youngsters' being checked age wise at the Preston game in the 10 minutes i was having a beer outside a good 6 or so were challenged and found wanting.
Not sure what happens next to them or the ticket holder.
On the accrued sell on monies the season ticket blurb just issyes says that yoy have to apply for the refund to your bank account. It cannot be automatically set against renewal.
Personally a 5% increase on my ticket is more than acceptable ( i was expecting more) but some of the other decisions are strange, to say the least | | | |

There's been an interesting dynamic recently in WWE.
A few years ago they sold to TKO, a group who own UFC etc.
Obvs Vince McMahon was a pretty bad man (currently being indicted for sex trafficking) but a comment was made by a TKO executive saying that Vince had under priced tickets to attract families as he believed it was important to have a conveyor belt of future fans. TKO believed he left money on the table. They have relentlessly increased ticket prices over the last two years to the point a stadium nose bleed seat at Wrestlemania last weekend cost $854. It was almost $10k for a floor seat.
They held Mania at the same venue they did last year, and sold almost 30k fewer tickets. Now given they've doubled in price, TKO probably dgaf.
But that's fans not getting drawn in by the magic, not making memories and not forming behaviours. Interest in the product on google trends is 20 percentage points lower than last year. How do you get those fans back?
Hopefully the parallel is obvious, but sports (i know i know) support is built on habits. There is a case of knowing the price of everything and the value of nothing when weighing up what you can get today vs the lifetime value of that fandom |  | | |

Fully appreciate all the views on here and a real shame that some longstanding season ticket holders won’t be able to renew. I do however have some sympathy for the club here. I can’t recall there being major hikes in ticket prices and we have often frozen prices. I looked back as far as my emails have renewal confirmations (2015) just down from the Prem. My ticket was around £450. Next season it will be £570 or so. It’s just over 2% inflation annually over 11 years (would be less if you factor in compounding). That's way below inflation almost every year for those 11 years.
During that time the cost of a pint has just about doubled for reference.
My Son is 10 and is obsessed with QPR after flirting with Man City. Because I can’t buy a season ticket in the R block as the seats around me are all taken, I move my seat and buy him a ticket. It’s around £20 a match doing it that way which feels a lot. Perhaps that is why I think £120 for an u18 is okay, but it is still very good value when you consider it’s for 23 games that the club cannot sell to someone else.
Compare our ticket prices to a Prem game and you’d be lucky to get two junior tickets to one game for the price of a season ticket with us. | | | |

I went back and read Nourry’s message from last year as well as this year’s.
Last year’s he talked about patience, difficult spells, sold out home games, packed away ends, and even made a point of saying the thank you wasn’t just a token line. It at least sounded like he got what fans were putting in.
This year’s reads much more like club comms boilerplate. Positive strides, optimism, young group, club to be proud of etc.
That’s the disconnect for me. He’s answering a mood question while supporters are asking a fairness question. People aren’t mainly arguing about whether the club feels optimistic. They’re asking whether it’s fair to scrap free U8s, fold 23-25s into adult pricing, and hit younger fans and families like this.
That’s what jars. If you’re going to do it, own it and explain it straight. Don’t do the warm words version while making it harder for the next generation of supporters to come. |
The change to Under 8s seems a mis step.
Concessions for 18-25s wasn't something many Champ clubs did. At least I'd be surprised if they did.

I’ve no skin in the game now as well past 23 and an awful long way if I ever get there to 63.
Price discrimination is common of course (buses, football tickets and whatever else). Once upon a time the typical 23 year-old left education at 16 or 18 at a push and had years of work behind them and were probably on or near the property ladder. Now the difficulties finding decent work and saving for the increasingly unaffordable first home has been discussed to death.
I don’t want an ‘us v them’ when I’m neither but the point of price discrimination is to entice people from less affluent groups to buy. In 2026 your average 64-year-old is doing well relative to your average 24-year-old so it’s not to say pensioners don’t deserve a discount or should turn it down but to me it’s outdated to still price in a way that makes the ticket less accessible to the younger person. | | | |

ok club losing money and has done since day one of it's existence it seems.
why penalise the kids? the future fans, who lets say have been coming with mum/dad for a few years, watching overall dire fodder while their chelsea/fulham/arsenal even man city now at school come in full of chipper and bravado , yet pipe up the classic - yeah 5hit but local and i go.
maybe not now . we have a strong rep as a family club and prices hikes were very unpopular a few years back when season tickets doubled .
i doubt we have a waiting list for season tickets to take up any seats given up by families .
those kids bring in cash thru kits, sweets, soft drinks, food etc at half time , they grow and will want beer! and follow the team up and down the country , mostly watching us lose but enjoying the fellowship of mates, banter and the new grounds. | | | |
