Got to be honest couldn’t stand him la§st season , way he was setting us up awful football but this season he seems diff , he’s getting more fecked off with the inquires as every game goes by seems more focused this season maybe because they think we are good enough for the play offs , which if we had half a fit squad for the season we might stand a chance , he just seems diff maybe he has blocked the calls from nourry and William’s and is doing it more his way during the games |  |

I think he's made quite a jump so far this season. He's clearly got the link up play and transitions in what we do a lot smarter and quicker. We genuinely look like a pretty good team.
I agree with some on this thread thinking if he would stay after this season if the injuries pile up again. He looked very frustrated when asked about the new injuries. Then again Nathan Jones on the joint presser after the game said that the schedulers had no idea about how 5 games in 12 games impacted players and injuries. He was spot on and it does appear that the 'dropping like flies' issue is pretty much happening throughout the league.
But yeah, so far a big jump forward from the gaffer but as I have said on other threads, for me Kevin Betsy alongside him is a big factor. And possibly Bould actualy being in the dug out on match days too. |  |

Really impressed with Julien this season. Win, lose or draw he’s calm and rational after the game and usually describes it the same way we all saw it. He’s holding the players more to account too. You can already see him getting as frustrated as the rest of us with the injuries starting to pile up. | |

I think/thought he had learned from last season but I was very annoyed at the side he selected, maybe because of previous team selections, with the side he put out against Boro. The team selection was a major factor why we got FA from the game.
Other than that major wrong team selection I am 'warming' to the man.....I enjoy listening to him talk. Do I think that he will jump before the end of the season - No I do not, he is better than that & I think he has got a lot of what he wanted pre season. | | | |

My theory on this is the club wanted to keep him, and the negotiations around that happened fairly early in the summer. There was a Nourry interview where he talked about player recruitment that, I thought, sounded like they weren't about to embark on a new manager search.
Part of that process has involved a 'deep dive' into the availability of players last season. Julien was more and more open about that towards the end of the season, and at the end of that deep dive there's been an agreement for all parties to get on the 'same page' - i.e. JS will buy into all the loading stuff and generally err on the side of caution to try to help manage player's fitness, with particular emphasis on potential assets like Lamptey. In return I think Williams committed to getting the squad much fitter than it was at the start of last season.

I think he's a really decent manager probably best since Warburton, he has created harmony in the squad and belief, we are playing really interesting and innovative tactics, he is pragmatic when he needs to be, and maybe stubborn but all managers are. a number of players are progressing.
