I honestly don't know what to make of Raheem Sterling anymore. Still only 31, the lad seemingly has everything one could desire in life but clearly has issues. When Police attended the scene of the crash they found him in the passenger seat with several cans of nitrous oxide in his lap. The video footage is pretty damning. I hope he gets the help he needs before it's too late.

A hypothetical question for you
Had he not been so fortunate and crashed into a member of your family or a friend and either maimed or the unthinkable and they had lost their life.
Would they still deserve a second chance??
Because it was more by luck than judgement that he didn't involve someone else - He certainly didn't care, and sorry if this comes across harsh and I understand MHI but he is no better than many people nowadays who think they are above the law
I'll leave it there and stop ranting but feel very strongly about it having been directly affected by a similar thing many years ago and losing a friend. |
He was lucky. Very lucky he didnt maim anyone else but he has after receiving his sentence an opportunity to rebuild his life and am very sad for yes the loss of your friend in similar circumstances. Awful and you have my sympathy.
But yes of course if someone else had died as a result of this, firstly he would get a greater punishment, but you would hope he is given help to realise he made a conscious choice, so he has to learn he can never do this again.
Regards if he had killed someone and it was a loved one of mine, clearly it would be very hard to feel that you want them to be anything other than be locked up indefinitely. It wouldnt happen though, so you need the person to get help to change their ways.
i do have personal experience about this myself, also. My brother in law on quite a few occasions years ago, at Christmas time, regularly drunk drove, and massively over the limit. I reported him to the police myself after the events as was concerned he could potentially kill other road users. He wasnt prosecuted, as they were after the event. I ended up being enemy number one for calling him out and ever since i have had no contact at all with my sisters family, because I was seen as the one in the wrong.I contacted police myself as i wanted him , never to do this again. Each time, he had done it, my sister had said he was massively over the limit.
As far as i am aware, he has never done it again, but me being seen as a grass ie going against family, my sister and her husband no longer see me and have told their children to never contact me either. I got a lot of abuse as a consequence.
i dont regret my decision though. He stopped doing it as he was more open to realising he could cause massive damage to himself, his own family and other random strangers too. So hence why i hope Sterling after some punishment, changes his ways.
In a way i lost out, as i have no contact now with my nieces and nephews, who i saw regularly before. I was treated as the one in the wrong.
So yes Superhoops2808, am very very aware of the potential catastrophic circumstances of this, as hope you can understand.
But Sterling will be free again at some point. And re educating him about his choices and as a high profile offender, in future lets hope he changes his way and could help prevent many more from making these terrible choices in the future, by getting involved in campaigns to prevent others from taking these choices.

I could've p o s s i b l y ended up related to Raheem by marriage because long ago, he tried to get off with my wife's niece  .
I hope he gets appropriate help very soon, the fall from grace for these erstwhile mega stars can destroy their lives and others' with them. |  |
