Lloyd is loveable, like a Labrador. God loves a trier, but that header was an appalling miss. It looks even worse on reply as he doesn’t even need to jump much at all. For his own sake, I really hope he scores soon to get the monkey off his back. He must be feeling it. |  | | |

It was as bad as they come but older and better players than him have wilted in the circumstances. Got straight up and had another go which forced a very good save. He’s not perfect but he’s cheap, he’s ours, he clearly sets the right example to other young players coming through on the effort required to make the most of what you have. I think that's all very fair. I'll have to see the replay of the header - looked unlucky from where I was but fair enough.
But as said, very good point-blank save very soon after, and from what looked like a good turn. Not unusual for players even at the highest level to miss any easy one and score a more difficult one.
I just don't see him as the weak link this afternoon on the strength of that appearance. | | | |

I thought the defender just did enough to get in his way with the header and make it a little more difficult (albeit that it was still a very good chance, but not a horror miss).
Excellent save for the other chance. Hopefully he gets a break soon, gets the monkey off his back, then let's see how he goes.
In any event, he tries his heart out and causes problems for the oppo, and that's good enough for me for the time being whilst we see how he develops. | | | |

Some players have to work hard for it, Charlie Austin, Harry Kane for example, but they learn, others have a natural gift for it, Clive Allen, Haaland, Gary Lineker. It's an instinct, strikers knowing where to be, reading what may happen.
Alfie is certainly no Clive, but may develop, like Harry. No need for a pile-on just yet..

The defender did well to get in front of him and make the header harder than it looked. Alfie is not the finished article, but his commitment and effort makes a difference against tiring defenders. He may not be as dangerous in front of goal as others are, but he is willing to put the work in to improve. | | | |

I’m genuinely confused. I like Lloyd. I genuinely do. He has boundless enthusiasm (hence the Labrador simile). I like that about him. I think my post has been misunderstood. I think he’s genuinely useful off the bench.
But it’s a shocking miss. It was harder to miss than score. As I said, I really hope he scores soon to get that monkey off his back. I think he’s feeling the missed chances, as you’d expect.

He should have scored the header, we’d say that about any of our players. The second chance was a quite outstanding save by their keeper. | |

I think for a player who has 1) given nothing but 100% for qpr, and 2) one who Dunne has spoken very highly of, the comments from a few are very harsh. He missed a chance. We’re less than 10 games into the season and I think he’s improved significantly. I think he gets far more abuse than is necessary. | | | |
