Anyone know who's off and playing for their country? Jimmy Dunne and Harvey Vale for RoI,I guess, and Paul Smyth for the North, so who else is going to be missing from the training ground? Nothing on the offish.

Not sure why they recalled Kamara but let Smyth stay with the Northern Ireland squad where he spent to 4 games sat on the bench. At least Kamara played in a couple of Finland's games.

Might have answered your own question - Smyth's on the bench, Kamara isn't.

Also, Kamara had already been on 'managed minutes', 45 at most etc.

Still, unless we've done this deliberately to get him rested for Derby and Birmingham it feels like a bit of a pig's ear somewhere.

He's not played much this season but he played loads last year 33 in the Prem and around 13 in the champions League. he was heavily involved all season. He played around 20 more games then Madueke and started a lot more.

He needs to have more on an impact in the final 3rd to really establish himself but he's more than capable. I actually think he'll end up dropping deeper into midfield rather than be the creative force of a team

Ok fair enough.

Its a fair amount of games, but am guessing at least half of those appearances would be from the bench, and my view is if he was starting every game, his class and showmanship has more opportunity ro shine through and be maintained.

Apparently 21 prem stars and 12 subs but outside of the two Spurs games, only scored 2 other goals for Arsenal in a Title winning season. And just dont see him being played often enough for England and Arsenal to get the most out of his talents. Also, neither allow him to play in his strongest positions either.

I think Arsenal's first eleven, he is not in that eleven, all being fit, firing and available.

Just the nature of being at a club, at the very top of the leagues. Personally, i dont think he will start enough games there to be consistent. And that will lessen his chances and qualities for England too.

Hope he does though and your view prevails Dave.

Fantastic player if used correctly. The sort that absolutely would have no issues him coming back here in the twilight of his career.
