As of this week we’re without Madsen, Burrell and Lamptey until after the November international break, Mbengue is out for the season with an ACL, and Chair is still sidelined. That’s on top of various others managing issues, and it feels very familiar from the last couple of seasons. Rather than another general moan thread, interested in what people think is the main driver.
What’s the main reason for QPR’s recurring injury crisis?
Whilst the medicsl team do not appear (from the outside at least) to be covering themsleves in any glory, blaming all the injuries on them is gross exaggeration.
We are not the only club with multiple injuries. Several (Dunne and Kemper I can recall) have been contact injuries. The crazy schedule has been well documented.

The only true answer is "combination of factors"
When doing GCSE history about World War One, our teacher would drill into us "more than one country, more than one cause"
If you look at the championship overall, injuries this season are insane this season. The best data point I could find has 177 players currently out injured, which is an average of over 7 per club.
I believe historically we have recruited a profile of player with an injury profile with the idea we can fix them them through science. Hasn't worked.
We do have a lot of similar injuries and last season we had a terrible start where the squad looked hugely undercooked

think thr main arguemnt from the fans is reuccruing inuires even with the set mins there, being allowed to play they still keep happening.
chair burrell madson being main examples of when was they last ever fully fit ?
If you go on the Championship Reddit subforum you will see fans of every club in the League complaining about large numbers of players being out injured.
Its frustrating, but its not unique to us, but its really a flashing sign that something is going wrong with the schedules being put in place for the modern game / player.

I do think the number of games being crammed into the season needs reducing. For International players it's bonkers. I know it only effects us marginally but these Nations League groups are playing each other both home and away to determine Group positions. In an overloaded schedule that could be reduced to just the one game against each team in the Group. The League Cup also sadly passes us by but in the crowded schedule I think it has to go. I'd offset that by strengthening the rewards of the FA Cup.

I personally feel that it is an issue with the new pitch that was laid three years ago. Since then we have been plagued with injuries. These new hybrid pitches have no give in them whatsoever. You catch your studs in them and it is very likely that you’ll do your hamstring/ACL/groin etc. they are nice to pass the ball on but I suspect that people who play on 100% artificial grass have less injuries than those who play on the hybrid pitches.

Well we at least did our bit last year by killing the natural bit off entirely to leave a fully artificial surface.

I read somewhere research into injuries on both natural surfaces and artificial ones showed no overall big differences between the two, but there were a larger number of ankle area injuries on the artificial surfaces. Madsen?

When players come back they never seem to get fit again, as soon as they push themselves they break down again.
Chair the best example here, he was literally the player who was never injured, yet since that first injury he's barely played more than a handful of games in a row.
