The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Lee van Cleef and Eli Wallach together with Clint make this a winner for me.

Definitely Josey Wales for me.

Great Western, combining drama with some wonderful humour. Still remember some of the classic lines;

From Josey;

'Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?'

'Dying ain't much of a living'.

From Chief Dan George;

'I guess I ain't so old after all'

Probably Good Bad and Ugly.

But honourable mentions for Escape from Alcatraz and Bridge of Madison County.

High Plains Drifter for me, but only as the callous teenager who was thunderstruck by it the first time I saw it. Like other films of the time - notably Get Carter - I would be too repelled by the gleeful violence of it, especially against women, to enjoy it now.

Of those not mentioned so far, I really enjoyed both Space Cowboys and Million Dollar Baby. There are plenty of his films which you don't get bored rewatching.

Josey Wales is my favourite.

I also like Escape From Alcatraz. It was made in 1979 but feels like it was made in the 60s.

Not mad about his early Westerns and definitely not a fan of the Dirty Harry films.

I think 'The Bridges of Madison County' is superbly shot and directed.
'Unforgiven' also very powerful.

I like quite a few, especially the westerns. But if pushed to choose one, would have to say Where Eagles Dare. Coincidentally it's on ITV4 in a half hour.

Yes! And ‘The Mule’ is another good late period Eastwood movie.

I have always felt that I could sing "I was born under a wandrin' star" just as well as Lee Marvin.

Clearly Unforgiven is best overall.
He has quite a few blinders tho that you can argue for the top
Spot.

Poll: Serious concern we'll double drop?
