Work Permit required for Marti 08:43 - Oct 31 with 3889 viewsnumptydumpty

See the appointment is subject to gaining a work permit.

Anyone in the know, about whether this is simply a tick box, or is it far from 💯 certain.

Would he be allowed to start his tenure this Saturday and be present or does he have to wait until the work permit is approved.

I have no knowledge on the do's and don't of this process.

Could it be blocked and if so why ??

Be very QPR if first few games Marti not in the country or eventually refused a permit. Sure Hoos would have done due diligence etc, or whatever that means..

Am sure its almost certainly OK, but is there anything that could prevent it going through ??

This was always going to be the case, as it was for Paal, Begovich etc.

I would think that they looked at the criteria & did their due dilligence.

Oddly I'm reminded of the scene from Casino Royal...." Mr Fukutu is all in"

well, we're "all in" 4 years !!

I wonder is this wise. If true a 4 year contract has lots of downsides, and very few up.

a year ago everyone was going mad that we hadn't tied Beale down properly with release clauses etc

Bare bones.

Visa sponsorship - Can't see it being a problem especially as they (him and his assistant) have both worked here before

We are mental, but even QPR wouldn’t make a song and dance over this appointment without being certain a work permit was a given would we?

I can’t see the department handling his application being too happy about it though.

Yeh they didn't decide they were doing this yesterday, you'd think during the process last week that would have all been sorted out right? Right?

Piece of cake:

In the relevant box as to why we need a foreign coach write: Having tried several British coaches over the last few years, please note the attachments in support of our application below:

1. Copy of the Championship league table (QPR highlighted).

2. Show compilation video of our games since Jan 2022.

3. Detail the players we've got in the squad and where they have been played sometimes when selected.

4. Show a video of Willock tearing it up and of him coming on in the 93rd minute last Saturday.

Is being QPR head coach considered a contribution to high level sport in this country ??

Also QPR football manager considered to be an essential key worker thus overriding any issues with work permit !!! 😆

I think if you work with JCS and Willock you get classed as a healthcare worker.

3 years 4 years 10 years it makes no difference, all manager contracts are you pay off a year if you sack them, 4 years protects you if he does well you get compensation

Not sure how relevant this is to us with Xavi Calm but I think one of the problems with Iraola at Bournemouth is that they could get a work permit for him but are still waiting for some of his coaches to get permits

My understanding is the same, apart from the top managers(Pep, Klopp, Mourinho etc) have in their contracts that the club pay out the lot if sacked... or that the club continue to pay them until they get a new role, but if the new job pays them less, the sacking club has to pay the difference, to ensure that they don't take a cut!? I think these elite level contracts have been mistaken as the norm for all managers, but not the case.

Forgetting the work permit stuff, which is likely to be a formality anyway am quite excited by this appointment. If Marti can quickly establish what we all know is the problem that Chair and Willock are the key to getting out of the mess we are in. Hopefully moves Chair into central midfield playmaker role he should be in and get Willock to be free roaming just behind Dykes as Warburton and Beale got him playing that way.
