What celebrity could help financially for QPR ? 22:51 - Mar 3 with 3298 viewsnumptydumpty

Snoop Dog at Swansea, the Wrexham Oscar winners and now KSI vowing to take Dagenham and Redbridge to the Premier League....

Who do we think is appropriate for ourselves...

Delboy and Rodney
Rick Astley
Simon Cowell
Britney Spears
Tyson Fury

Or maybe we dont go down that rocky road again.....

Anyone sending out any begging letters to the rich and famous and if so, who best fits our unique brand !!!!!!

The most successful period in our history was when we were run by a used car salesman.

So George Cole's Arthur Daley could be a good fit. He's certainly very West London. Although he might turn the Forever R's Bar into the Winchester Club, and he might be a bit too old for our young CEO who seems to enjoy currying favour with da yoot.

Maybe the original George Cole wideboy would be a better fit:

I’ve put the word out - anyone that’s seriously wealthy AND injured should apply for a job with no salary and a bunch of expenses with no sign of a return.

Maybe we can send Nourry on Dragons Den to pitch the idea.

All the money in the world won't prevent hammies from pinging. I propose specialist and Rangers fan Dr Xand.

I like Dr Xand, please keep him away from the curse of Loftus Road.
There is no former player or celebrity that our club couldn't destroy the reputation of!

Anyway, I know its a bit of fun, but the point is moot.
Jeff Besos could get on board, but it doesn't help the club under the current P&S rules, unless he got AMazon to sponsor the shirts for £1Bn, which is probably going to break the rules, like Stoke do with Bet365...

We'll probably get a consortium of Gripper Stebson off Grange Hill, three of the Clangers and Mrs fcking Brown.

Not the money, its the rules allowing you to spend the money that is the problem.

Wrexham currently have an income inflated by their show I guess.
We could launch our own show using the Four Year Plan as the pilot.
Not sure it would be a Netflix seller though, seasons 2 to 11 and they've finished 16th again?

There was that funny season 8 where Mick Beale had a cameo followed by that dull northern bloke. The last two seasons have been shit and mainly focus on the ever growing treatment room and the Teams calls with the head of performance physio & well-being.

They're doing it for the Netflix/Disney series. We'd end up on Channel 5 with Jane McDonald.

I don't think I've got this wrong, but I'm sure that Kieran Maguire said that the football club don't get any revenue from the show. Reynolds and McElhenney have brought in a lot of sponsorship for the club from the USA.

So indirecly then. The show has brought their venture to the attention of Americans and stoked a lot of interest and sponsorship deals. Good on them.

I guess Tony Fernandes tried it on to a degree in the Asian market with us, the only problem was, everthing he touched football wise, turned to shit.

Wrexham will hit a ceiling soon and I'm not sure where the ratings come from then when their plastic online fan base realises they aren't winning the prem and the champions league (but they might still cling to hopes for the world cup or euros...).

There's a couple of people at work here with no prior interest in football who suddenly "support" Disney FC, still believing its some sort of underdog fairytale, but Aussies are notorious for vanishing when any team they support stops winning. No fire drills required as they don't even turn up!

Exactly, I don't exactly think their sponsorship deals would look quite the same without the global TV audience they currently enjoy.

Just to put some numbers to this, for the season 2023/24

QPR sponsorship and advertising: up from £2.21m to £3.57m

Wrexham (in League 2) sponsorship and advertising: £13.2m

That doesn't surprise me at all.

The naming rights of Loftus Road is worth £1.2m over 3 years. I don't know how much other FL clubs get for their stadium naming rights , but £400k a year doesn't seem a lot to me.

I guess there has to be some due diligence around this to show that the sponsorship is in line with the "market rate"
Otherwise we see the owners indirectly sponsoring the ground, like Man City or Stoke

Any idea what percentage of Wrexham's revenue comes from overseas?

Yes, but I don't recall either of those clubs being punished for inflated sponsorship deals.
