Wallace 21:20 - Nov 9 with 2717 views | Hastings_Hoops | Another great last ditch and perfectly timed tackle today! That’s two in a week. I like him and think he will be great with some better quality defenders around him.
Wallace on 22:02 - Nov 9 with 2575 views | dannyblue | Likewise, but I hold him marginally more responsible that Manning for the awful mix up that led to Boro’s first
Wallace on 22:19 - Nov 9 with 2537 views | LowerloftLad | Was every bit an spl defender at times today looked out of his depth for the first 20 minutes but then again that entire back four looked thinner than tesco value toilet paper today [Post edited 9 Nov 2019 22:21]

Wallace on 22:23 - Nov 9 with 2514 views | Boston | Hmm, though he made some decent tackles I thought he was out of his depth. Still, I wouldn't judge him too harshly as he's not exactly out of step with the rest of the back line.

Wallace on 22:36 - Nov 9 with 2476 views | stevec | Passing game or not, we are desperate for a Danny Shittu figure in the back line. Someone to send the Manning/Wallace/Wells cock ups into Row Z. Asombrelonger wouldn’t have got a sniff out there today. I can’t believe there’s not someone of that ilk in the lower divisions available at a bargain price.
Wallace on 22:41 - Nov 9 with 2457 views | Ned_Kennedys | He was hardly 'out of his depth' and certainly no worse than any of the other back five. I felt Manning was to blame for the first goal as well.
Wallace on 08:59 - Nov 10 with 2125 views | DejR_vu | I thought he was more than decent for someone who’s been out injured for months and, for one reason or another, hardly played for a couple of seasons. Also very vocal marshalling the defence, and helping some of the younger players positionally. Shame about the first goal but we’ve got a midfielder playing left back and left back playing left centre back in his second game for his new club; always potential for misunderstanding. I think he could be fantastic for us.

Wallace on 09:55 - Nov 10 with 2004 views | nix | It's very early days for him. Definitely want to see him play a few more matches before making any judgements. Showed some good points. Also bound to be some mix-ups when they're not used to playing together. It's no coincidence that a back four that consistently plays together all season tends to be better than one that has to chop and change.
Wallace on 11:29 - Nov 10 with 1882 views | BklynRanger | According to his interview after the last game he hasn't played on the left side of a central three before, so he deserves a bit of slack on that I'd say. Am sure he'd be a lot more comfortable as an actual LB. I think he looks like he knows what he's doing while still needing to play his way into form. For their first goal I thought that was more Manning's mistake - will have to see it again but Wallace didn't look close enough to the ball for Ryan to have left it for him to take care of. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

?????????? Not for me Wallace 20 yards from ball, Manning three!
Wallace on 20:07 - Nov 10 with 1484 views | bosh67 | We definitely need to go out and look for a big unit of a youngster with pace in that Danny Shittu mould, or a fat athletic man marker like Paul Parker. These kids are out there!

I haven't watched it back yet. At the game, I was angry with both of them, but on reflection just thought it would be better for Wallace to move on to the ball and play forward, than Manning to have to hold the ball facing his own goal with someone at his back. Could well be wrong though
Wallace on 13:22 - Nov 11 with 1108 views | A40Bosh | Which begs the question where is Conor Masterson? Unless he picked up an injury whilst with the ROI U21 squad at the end of October I don't think he has hardly ever made even the bench this season. Appears to be highly rated and I hear rates himself highly, but perhaps his development is not considered to be at the right stage yet to put him in the 1st team or they wont expose him to tough Champion games unless the other 2 of a back 3 were regular first choice CBs.

Wallace on 13:29 - Nov 11 with 1085 views | francisbowles | If he was fit, you would have expected him to make the bench as we didn't have a defender on it. If we had a defensive injury on Saturday the only option I can think of that we had was to move Ball and bring on a midfielder.

We did have Kane and Manning to help in any defensive reshuffle, but do agree it was surprising that neither Rangel or Masterton were on the bench [Post edited 11 Nov 2019 13:55]

Personally, I see Manning and Kane as primarily attacking players not particularly strong enough defensively to play as a centre back. I do agree that they could have adapted into a back four though.
