The YT Hayesender did earlier of the game fom 1990 - when we could half expect to win a Cup tie, got me thinking if anyone who's into watching old pathe news type things, knows of the earliest footgae out there of QPR playing?

Here we are in 1923

Could well be LR as the huge buildings in the background were there for the Franco-British exhibition as part of the White City, I believe. Also, the ref's kit is amazing as are the photographers virtually on the pitch which is grassless so more than likely LR back then!!

10 March 1923
Lost 1-0 at home in the Quarterfinal of the FA Cup.

We had beaten Palace, Wigan Borough and South Shields AFC to get to that stage.

According to "A complete history" the crowd was 20,000.

Not a clue to how accurate that would be!

My Grandfather went to the game at Loftus Road.Typical Rangers claimed the Sheffield winning goal was a hand ball, and remembered the sHeffield players laughing when the ref gave the goal.

Note also they would have been playing in green and white hoops.

Magical though.

Is there a way of downloading this off Youtube?

Tossed it off as there was a more important Southern League match on the Tuesday.

Not many 'leaders' on display or much surrounding of the ref!

Would love to turn up to a game dressed like that!

Got my old programmes/hand books .The QPR fells /captain is James Birch ,i would guess. One of our record appearances at 324 games.played from 1912 until 1926.

I hope the club have a record of this
