Tom Hitchcock. Came on as sub, so 'Arry could say to the board "this is all I have, go buy me a striker". Then he scores the winner in the last minute and never played for us again. One game, one goal, legend!

Danny Westwood. Came on as sub in a 4-2 home win against Leicester. Managed to get on the end of a Phil Parkes long drop kick on a windy day and score with a header from about 15 yards. (from memory)

Also the game where a Phil Parkes kick went into the opponent's goal but was ruled out for offside. Not sure who the culprit was.

I believe Carl Leaburn in early 2002 was officially the very shortest QPR career ever. Month loan, on as a sub, then off injured in a matter of minutes. Kieron Dyer tried hard to beat it an opening home game of a Premier League season (2012/13?) but they rebuilt him and he later went on to a play a handful more games and even score a goal.

Alex Higgins. (Not that one.)

Came on against Wolves in the last game of the season we went down under Gerry/Holloway. Can't have been on the pitch longer than 10 minutes but used to time to put in at least one great tackle in the middle of the park, brutally kick the shins of several Wolves players, get a yellow for a kung-fu special and very nearly a red a minute later.

Taught Samba Diakite everything he knows.

Remember being disappointed we didn't bring him back for the administration season in League One, as he would have provided some excellent entertainment.

Now managing England under 16's.

Jimmy Carter. Signed by Jim Smith midway through his first season on a free from Palace. Eventually let go for a nominal fee to Millwall a couple of years later without playing a game despite as I recall excelling for the reserves. Millwall end up selling to Liverpool for just short of a million when it was still a significant fee.

Yeah I remember Alex Higgins, that one tackle that cracked against the other player's shin pad, the noise reverberated around the whole stadium.
