Clint Hill has parted company with Joey Barton and Bristol Rovers for ‘personal family reasons’. Is there a need/role for him back at QPR. Maybe with Eustace looking to go in the not too distant future could he be groomed to take over as our No2?

NO!

If Eustace goes, MW appoints who he wants as his number 2.

Of course, if Mark wanted him, that would be a different story.

I think if Eustace does eventually go it may be Neil Banfield steps up. I would prefer if someone like Andy Impey was trained up as he is already in the "system" QPR are working towards.

The grass is always greener.

I know Banfield is highly thought of, but the guy looks to me like he needs to munch on a few salads - he puts me in mind of Jack Duckworth. Always amazes me how coaching professionals at the top end of football coaching/management (cf. 'Big' - read 'fat' - Sam, Ron, Barry et al.) can let themselves go into such a state of lardy arseness - it must undermine their credibility in the eyes of those fit young athletes they're training, surely? (I believe Pat Rice was informally known as 'Fat Pat' for a number of years at the, uh, Arse.)

Who's been the fattiest fatfighter at the Rs? (is it ever an asset?)

Read the room mate. Have you never been to a football match? 😂

Personally speaking i'm pleased about this....was always uncomfortable with such a fine and decent fellow being part of that toe-rag's set up.

Just because he is an ex player does not make him a good coach. He's had one coaching job at Fleetwood and nowhere else. Hardly the C.V. for a Championship Assistant Manager.

Bumped into him at Waterloo station just after he left us, stopped and chatted for ages, also used to always make a point of speaking to my son before games, he’s a genuine decent bloke.

Maybe in a junior role. But not in a senior role. Or maybe not at all.

He showed questionable judgement for hitching his wagon to the ethics-less Barton trail, and then doubled down by sticking with it.

I don't care how much he professes to love our club, he simply isn't qualified enough to join us in a senior coaching capacity.

He may of course go on to be a great coach but now he is a gamble, tactically, technically and ethically.

I know he’s a club legend but I’m not too keen on hiring a guy who stuck around Barton for so long

Met him twice in Glasgow, and both times he was brand new. Came across as a stand up, humble regular fella.

Forget Hill. Let’s just hope Eustace doesn’t go anywhere before Barton gets released from prison.

We don't always need to look at just those who have played for our club with distinction for senior roles. Others are available

After some of the stuff he's said about Warburton in recent years don't expect him back at QPR anytime soon

Hope he is OK, leaving for family reasons doesn't sound good for him

He is, and I can only imagine him being a positive influence on the players.

In relation to the OP I don't think he should come straight in at that level, he should join at a lower level and work his way up if he were to join. Hopefully his family issues aren't too serious.

I didn’t suggest he should come in at that level
