First twenty minutes were a bit worrying and our defence looked like we wanted to gift Brum a goal
The arrive Chair and he became unplayable and in reality could have had 3 or 4 goals.
Willock couldn't be tackled and our defence held solid after 20 mins Charlie and Dykes are slow but played parts in the chances and goals so can't complain
Great game and enjoyed the clean sheet.
QPR amazing or Brum rubbish . Probably a bit of both
Good to see Deeney getting nothing as well, I still recall his comments on it being a cup tie for us vs watford
Pleased with how we ground it out in terrible conditions.
Willock is Premier League really, Chair not that far behind. Dickie, Dunne and Barbet were strong as those three have been all season. Thought Moses did much better tonight, stronger in tackle particularly first half and at last attacked wide when getting forward. He was unfortunate getting shifted to the left, it doesn’t suit him.
We have the makings of a good team, just something missing which I’m still trying to fathom, to make us a promotion team.

Both sides looked knackered in the first half, no one wanted to run around like the clappers as Champ teams usually do. Our passing was poor, like not even to the man for a simple ball. Wayward.
Then just before the first goal we got it together and started moving it about quicker and also pressing Brum quicker. After the goal, it was all QPR.
What is also noticeable is that Barbet had a chance to go forward down the wing-like we often do in the back 5 to press higher up and take a 1-2 from Willock say, but in this back 4 he stayed back all the time. The rest of the team did this when we were 2-0 up and Brum started getting desperate and throwing men forward.
Here we the belly was firm, we didn't get carried away and "grinded" out those mins so, that when we got to 80 mins Brum gave up.
This is what we need to do, fancy talk of game management should be told as they are, a fecking grind out. Boring and defensive, but rather do that at 2-0 than go for 3-0 and then gift them a goal for the last min onrush for not only an equalizer but then an eventual 2-3 loss. No thanks, 2-0 up, let's grind it out and get a clean sheet.
Now teams know we will always score, but can also prevent them from getting a goal. If we go 1-0 up against such teams hopefully their heads will sink and we can grab some more as they lose their way thinking the cannot win.
For promotion, this is the way!

Just back too and agree with all of that. As far as what might be missing, even partially - I think a lot of that is in the middle - when Johanssen has been on form and those around him are on their game we've looked good enough, to me at least.
Dozzell is still developing and Dom Ball is Dom Ball - which is as much a compliment as anything else. If we can get Stefan back to form and fitness, and get a good regular partner beside him (possibly Field) that would be ideal, obviously.

Enjoyed that - weirdly spent the whole game feeling relaxed and never thought we’d lose it. Birmingham aren’t all that and I think we’ve finally got more comfortable against the weaker teams. Some thoughts as well:
- Jimmy Dunne looks class in the middle of defence and has done every time he’s played this season, he should be a first pick ahead of big Jordi IMO. Defends first, never looks like he has a rick in him, was awesome in the air against Deeney, and even put in a couple of quality diags a la Barbet
- Chair needs a song. We should have sung him off the pitch but we don’t have one. Someone think of one
- Watching Willock live after a whole season on a poxy stream remains a pleasure, he’s got the most amazing control and never, ever loses the ball. Our next big money sale
- Dykes had one of his anonymous donkey games tonight which bodes well for his next one
- Dickie went out with a point to prove and proved it, love him rampaging forward
Can’t beat a home win in the pissing rain. An important result that and never looked in doubt

‘ Chair will tear you apart’ was being loudly sung in the Loft.

Reckon 2nd goal is worth a re-watch to see Dykes better 2 Birmingham players and put Chair clean through with a match winning assist. Also dummy for Austin wasn't too shabby. Austin + Gray both more fitting of donkey-like anonymity compliment I'd say.

“Chair is too good for you” works perfectly and last night it was true.
Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

How crap was Deeney???
Good and important win tonight.
To be fair, while Dunne battered him most of the night, he did escape on the back post for the clever header back to Chong. Can't believe he missed it. Overall. Brum looked more dangerous with Jutkiewicz and Aneke than Deeney and Hogan though. I liked Bela on the left, very athletic and dangerous wing back.

first goal changed the game, not much in it before then and we looked quite nervous. We calmed down after the goal and won pretty comfortably in the end.
Austins hold play was good again plus winning free kicks to relive pressure, thought he played well and lovely assist by Dykes for the 2nd goal.
Impressed by Dozzel again, did a neat and tidy job in midfield before Amos came on and was very effective in his closing down.
Chair was excellent and could have scored a few more but Wilock for me again the star man, even as a wing back he shields the ball so well and last 20 minutes when players tired and space opened up he was really exciting.
Great and much needed win

I thought Austin spent too much time playing as a right winger for my liking, including 1 cross that he would’ve loved to be on the end of.
